Question about Fieldvision 114mm Reflector (114 x 114mm) Telescope

4.5 inch reflector telescope --can't see anything

I recently bought a 4.5 inch reflector telescope. I put it all together with the handy visual guide and inside I was able to see through it, though the power seemed low, as objects looked slightly magnified. But outside, I can only see blackness. I've tried it several different times now, so it's not a case of something obvious like removing a cap, but I can't figure it out! I found a page on optical alignment that I'm going to try out, but I'd appreciate if anyone has an inkling of what I 'm missing.

I am borrowing a friend's telescope for two months while he is abroad, but cannot see anything through it either in the dark or daylight except for undistinguished light or dark. No objects etc. The dial on the eyepiece clearly relates to degrees of magnification. I do not know what the other one, on the stem does. The make is Opticron Piccolo. Have tried twiddling both dials with no result except for a vague reddish glow at 15 x magnification with the top dial at its tightest. This must sound very stupid.

The same thing happend to me when i tried to look through my "precision" telescope i dont know if thats a brand or the type of tele scope plz help.

You have to make sure your primary mirrow is level, there are a set of screws that will help you do it, then the secondary mirrow at 45 degree, start in a daylight to align the telescope. good luck

Cannnot see anything through the telescope

I know this may sound really stupid but with old Mead reflector I kept forgetting to take the cap off the tube. Seeing that it sets down inside a bit it's easy to miss.

I can't see anything...does it need a battery or what

No battery needed. This is a reflector style telescope here is Meade's manual web site:

Look under the 4.5 Inch Reflector heading for a scope. Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the focuser-- DO NOT USE the 2 x barlow.

Practice focusing on a distant object during the day time.

Purchase a 263/525 Reflector Telescope put it together, took off the eyepiece lens caps, but still unable to see anything. Does the end filter of telescope need to be removed?

The picture in your post is NOT a reflector style telescope:

This is a reflector:

Notice that the eyepiece is in the FRONT side of the scope. Take the front lens cap off-- the primary mirror is on the BOTTOM of the tube.

How to use Twinstar Atroquest 8 Reflector telescope? I bought this telescope for my daughters and it did not bring any guide to learn hou to use it.

This is a reflector style telescope. Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the focuser. Take it outside during the day time and practice focusing on a distant object.

If it is on an EQ mount read my EQ mount tip on my profile page. The scope will need to be polar aligned in order to use it properly if the mount is an equatorial.

Hi just purchased a used Sciencetech 262... Can anyone help me figure out how to put it together and use thank you

Sorry that is an off brand imported telescope. Never heard of that brand.

However, there are basically 3 styles of telescopes, a REFRACTOR, a REFLECTOR(that has mirrors), and an SCT with both a front corrector plate and a mirror.

You probably have either a refractor or a reflector. Meade maintains a web site with all of their manuals- lokk under the 4.5 inch Reflector heading, or the Refractor heading for one that is similar to your scope. They all assemble and are used in the same way.

I don't know how to use the telescope. It didn't come with directions on how to use it or put a few pieces together.

Since all reflectors and German equatorial mounts work about the same anyone familiar with telescopes can show you how to use it. No manual needed. Just contact a local club for the help you need. There's a strong bias against Tasco since so much of their stuff is junk, or "toy" telescopes.

and look at this web site under the header 4.5 inch REFLECTOR for a manual similar to your telescope. They all go together the same way.

maybe this one is similar to your scope. ?

We can not see anything out of the telescope only on the guide can we see anything

This is a reflector style telescope with a MIRROR in the bottom. The focuser end is pointed UP like in the picture above.

Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the focuser. Take the scope outside during the daytime and practice focusing on a distant object.

Read my tips on my profile page. AND-- reda this:

Need insturctions for putting it together

You never said the brand name or number?

However Meade maintains a web site with all their manuals: Find one similar to your telescope under either REFRACTOR or REFLECTOR.

They all go together about the same:

4.5 inch reflector telescope --can't see anything

Try pointing it at the moon first-- with the 20mm and practice focusing it. The moon is up just after dark right now.
