We have several machines in our office and I am a new employee, the only IT person. I've been asked to setup scan to pc function and have no idea how to do this......pls help
Setup ip address for scanner, login typing the scanner ip address in the browser, you have to setup sender list account, and destination account, sender list need just machine ip, destination need ip of the pc and his account number, from the other side you need to setup the program called fielscanner uitlity and configure with the account you just created on the brwoser. Note: you must create folder and mount scan uitlity to that folder, also each account iD should have same number from browser and scan file utility.
I’m happy to help further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/mustafa_06f84c65ab5cc745
Find the scanner on the network... you can use a tool like Advanced IP Scanner to search the subnet and then just hunt down the IP that belongs to the device -- it may not have a name registered. Visit each potential IP via browser (http://192.168.1.50), one will show you the Kyocera web page. The device has two, one for printer, one for scanner.. each one on its own IP....
That's how far I've got with mine - i was hoping it supports SMB scanning, but it may not. So now I am looking for the rest of the setup.
IP address: the address of the Kyocera. Scanner must have a separate IP than the printer.
Subnet mask and default gateway: The ones you normally use on your network. If you're not sure, check your own PC's TCP/IP v4 settings.
DHCP/BOOTP, RARP and ARP/PING: Leave these blank unless you have a specific need to use them.
DNS Server is normally your local DNS server, sometimes your DC.
DNS domain is your local one (e.g. yourdomainname.local)
Email address is the one the status page will be mailed to. A sys admin works fine here.
Destination list is where you configure all the senders who will have the ability to email scans to themselves. Pretty much everyone in the department, and you'll have to maintain this list as people are hired/leave the company.
Scan to PC setting enables you to scan to a network shared directory.
