You have to replace the whole door. There is one on eBay, but you won't like the price. Find it here: eBay

SOURCE: the door latch on my nikon n75 film camera is broken.

Parts are scarce unless you get them from a scrap camera. If the broken bit is on the body then it's not worth bothering. If it's on the door then it's fairly easy to swap the door from a donor camera.

But as you can buy an n75/F75 in virtually as new condition for under £50 on auction websites you have to decide whether a repair is cost effective.

SOURCE: Film door on Nikon N70 will not latch!

There is a little spring inside the door latch that moves when you slide cover switch. The spring may be worn out or fallen off. The only way to truely tell is to dismantle the door and switch

Testimonial: "Thanks for the info. Do you have instructions on how to do this?"

SOURCE: Broken latch on film door

Usually on this level Nikon it was a plastic "hook", part of the door moulding, that was retained by the latch mechanism in the body. The broken part may still be in there - if it is trip the latch and recover it with a tiny screwdriver or even a needle. If you can't find a replacement back door you can try welding the hook back in place with a low-temperature soldering iron - with the tip perfectly clean and a very steady hand - as long as the door is thermoplastic and not thermosetting. If that doesn't work bend a paperclip or similar to exactly the right shape with the free ends (roughened) long enough to extend into the plastic of the door by 4-5mm., heat the wire and push slowly into the edge of the door. There are many variations of this technique that I've used, all require extremely careful work! Best tip: spend more time thinking than doing. Good luck.

SOURCE: Display showing "E" and film is not getting forwaded

It sounds like the film transport motor is dead. If so, it needs a trip to repair shop.

be sure batteries are inserted correctly.

I was given a Nikon F65 SLR camera and my friend had lost the instructions manual...the step by step instruction one.not the specifications part...I'm not able to download that page....

Odd this is the second Nikon F65 for me to write on in the last five minutes.

Here is a link to a film page about half way down there will be two links for the PDF file for the manual. Yes the man is looking for $3.00 and if you are generous you can pay him most don't

Broken latch on camera back

An authorized Nikon dealer should be able to order the back for you. If there's no dealer in your area, Nikon's service center info is on their web site. There's currently one new back on eBay for US $98..95 from a Canadian seller with good feedback. My only other suggestion is the old joke about pros. How can you tell if a photographer is a real pro? His camera has gaff instead of duct tape.

External flash problems

Sounds like the external flash is being triggered by the pre-flash.

On the D40 set the flash mode to manual. On the F65 set the flash mode to Standard TTL.

Nikon Coolpix 2100/3100/3200 battery compartment door latch broken (again)

I just purchased a new battery door for $15 with shipping from nikon. They sent a simple assembly diagram and I was able to replace the door in 30 minutes. I used a dremel to cut the old door off, but you dont have to do that. I got a little impatient.

Just buy the plastic piece and u can reuse the metal parts for your old battery door.
