I have a u700. its been working fine for months, suddenly, my touch keys,
wheel, and middle button key will not work when it is slid up. when
slid down and unlocked, it works perfectly fine. When i raise it all
the way up, it will not work, sometimes if yu wait a little bit it will
work, but if yu lower the slide about half a centimeter, the lights on
the touch pad turn off. and lower it a little more and the reappear.
Other problems is that the screen will sometimes turn black while the
phone is on, the colors will invert and the screen will mirror itself,
etc. I have tried a reflash, and it doesnt help. Can anyone help me
with this problem? is it the flex cable, is a wire loose? hellppp~
I have the same problem and my phone is still under warranty. My touch keys and the middle wheel aren't functioning when it slides up.And now the screen is reversed. The wordings on the screen also reversed.

The FLEX (white film strip inside your sliding phone) is already worn out. if your phone is still covered by warranty, it will be replaced for free by any samsung mobile service center, but if not, you have to pay for its replacement..
In my case... I wait until the screen like sleep and screen is like turned off. then when i press the middle button everything will be back in its form. While in the case of black screen while turned on... I just wait for a couple of minutes and it will all go back to its form.

Try turning the steering wheel a bit and holding it so that it takes pressure off locking mechanism. Then turn key. When I first got my 530 I had to call the dealer to figure this out.

Try opening up that "front" cover of your phone (if you dare) and check if anything's blocking the connection. Sometimes it might even be the inner part of it spoilt.
if your key is a transonder key wich has chip in it give it a couple of minutes to reset the code keep key in ignition and wait to see if it reads key or try another key and see if you have sameproblem make sure you unlock steering wheel disconnecting batteryfor posts might have reset car computer and cannot read ur key...
I think this a problem related to the flex cable that connects the main phone body to the sliding screen. Over time the flex cable wears down as it slides and results in a whole range or problems such as: display acting weird (eg. mirror-image and inverted colours), speaker not working, off-button not working etc.
Flex cables are cheap to buy on ebay (a few dollars) and there's internet sites that show you how to open the phone and replace them. (google: samsung u700 replacement flex cable)
Usually the pins on the FLEX shorts out when liquid gets between the connectors and dries. Or the connectors are just loose, this is because you don't take good care of your phone.
Well you have to let someone replace/reconnect/check the FLEX of the phone, Replace cost's around $20-$40 (or around 200-500Php)
