You may benefit by going to Garmin's WebUpdater page to download & install updated firmware on your nuvi 760. It's free and all you need is a computer with a USB port and a USB cable that fits your nuvi 760 (it was included the box) The directions are clear and it is very easy to do.
undo the case with the two screws and disconnect the main battey and the back up battey and put it back together. this fixed the problem with audio and not turning on.
Hi, from the "Where To" / "View Map" screen, select the tools (spanner icon), then Settings (spanner icon again) then Language (Mouth icon). There should be 3 options, the lower left is the Keyboard; select this then scroll to British English. The upper icon is the Voice, choose a suitable one (if it says (TTS) it will read out street names as ir gives directions), the top-right option is Text, again choose British English.
I dropped my 760 nuvi into the dog's water bowl... (by accident of course)...
It was working but would shut off and eventually would not start.
Using the correct screwdriver with the star head, I removed the two tiny screws at he bottom back of the unit. Gently from the bottom, pry off the back.
Be careful as the battery pack and the speaker wire are still connected.
Using a hairdryer on Medium heat and high fan, air out the unit until all water/condensation is gone.
Before putting back together.... check that the unit works, and charges by connecting thusb to a computer.....
Once content it is working, snap the cover back together and screw in the 2 screws.
Attach the window mount to your GPS unit ...it clips into the bottom. Insert the power supply into the mount on the right side. Of course plug it in to your power supply in your vehicle that is hot or turn on your cars power supply
Check The system settings, I had to download the newest version of the audio software for the voice to work. The software vanished once and I had to re-download it using the web updater.
Best bet is to go to the manufacturer's website, or maybe the cell carrier's website. Many of them will provide manuals in .pdf format that you can download.
