Question about ViewSonic VA712B 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

Screen adjust changes when entering/leaving full screen games

Well had my monitor for about a year comming up (should be still under warrenty worse case), and recently the screen gets messed up whenever entering or leaving a full screen game. It moves horizontally to the right everytime i enter/leave a game meaning the whole horzintal position moves, leaving a black edge on the left side and unvisible parts of game/desktop on the right. I can fix by just doing the auto adjust but its annoying to have to do that so many times per day. Is there any fix or reason this is happening? thanks.

Ahh, updated the monitor drivers didn't work, but then reinstalling the latest nvidia drivers did it. Thanks again, wouldnt think vid drivers were problem cause I had them already up to date guess they got corrupted somehow.

When your not playing games does it have this problem? You should update the drivers for the monitor and your video card and even the games for that matter, all of those have updates. Update all of these items and see if the problem still exists. You may try running a virus/spyware/other boogies scan too you never know what ilk they may spread. We'll keep the warranty thing in mind but try the above updates. http://www.viewsonic.com/support/drivers/drivers.cfm?category=1&formName=monitor let me know what happens. Tim

Try this out it seems to work for some people, if that does not work try this out:

    Switch to Windowed Mode

If you continue to have trouble playing your game in full screen mode, switch to windowed mode. Under the main menu of the game, select Options, and un-check Full Screen mode (or vica verse if you already have windowed mode on, switch to fullscreen)

Thanks and I would appreciate a reply if that got fixed or not.
    Good Luck!

I purchased a Dell ST2320L monitor. When I am in Windows, there are black bars on the top and bottom, as well as the sides. When I am gaming, however it is full screen. How do I adjust the monitor in...

thats really odd that windows 7 doesnt give you full screen but the game does? change your resolution settings around to see if that helps altho i doubt it. check menu settings on your monitor and see if you can change its aspect ratio

When the game enters the direct show and begins the screen is centred in a small box about 1/4 the size of my monitor. The game will not go into full screen. Is this normal? My PC is a pentium 4.

Yes, it is normal. This is a very old game and came out before our 1080p resolutions, making the output naturally very small. Quickest fix is before you play it, right click the desktop and go to properties/personalize then go to display then adjust resolution on vista or win7 (or the resolution tab on xp). Change the number selected to one closer to 800x600 and start the game. Note: this will make everything BIG. When done just change it back with these same steps.

When opened, the HP TFT7600 displays "PC entering power saving mode" and the screen goes blank.

disconnect all the cables except the power cable and then turn the monitor on you would see a test screen if it still happens your monitor is faulty and better buy a new one as repairing is usually expensive .
also check you warrenty its usually 3 years

Dell inspiron 6000 screen splitting

Hi,
This is a generic problem in most of Dell Laptops ( mostly inspiron ). It is caused due to a fatal fault or breakage in the Hinge Assembly. You need a new Hinge Assembly. Is it splitting more on decreasing the angle of the monitor. If yes, Hinge assembly is the only culprit. If you are under Warrenty then Dell will be liable for it and replace it free. If not under Warrenty, I approx. costs 300$. Thank you Sir, Have a nice day.

Philips game trouble

When your game first loads. Enter the games settings and adjust the screen resoultion to match your wide screen monitor. If you can't get that far than hook up that other monitor. Load the game & enter it's screen settings (display) & adjust the resoultion. Your new monitor is wide screen. Your game needs to match the wide screen as well.

Good Luck!
