Does not go to the next line after scanning

The scanner needs to be programmed to hit the enter for you. Motorola Solutions article ADC-00316 has a link to the barcodes you need to scan: Scan Options, Data Suffix and Enter. This link should take you there: portal motorolasolutions com

Scan "enable CR suffix" from your manual

Symbol barcode scanners by default do not add a return after a scan. You need to program the scanner to add a suffix.

Scan a barcode

Hello,

In your programming manual there is a barcode scan that needs to be scanned in that adds the carriage return function. To do this you will first need to scan the barcode to put the unit into program mode, then scan the carriage return barcode, then scan the end programming code. Now when you scan a barcode the scanner will add the return to the sequence it sends to the computer. If you can't find your programming book you can download the sheets from the Symbol web site.

Do you have the programming book? It will have barcodes that are scanned to program the scanner.

If you would like the scanner to drop down to the next line scan the barcodes Scan Options, Data Suffix, Enter from the Quick Start Guide that should have come with the scanner. If you do not have the QRG then download the Product Reference Guide from this link:

Print Adobe pages 128 and 129 of 302 of the M2000 Series Product Reference Guide and scan the "Scan Options" "Data Suffix" and "Enter" barcodes. The scanner will give two beeps after the first barcode, two beeps after the second and a warble after the third programming (Enter) barcode.

In Excel 2003 Offline help, i see this helpful note:

Change which cell is selected next When you press ENTER to finish working in a cell, Microsoft Excel moves you to an adjacent cell or leaves you in the current cell.

1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Edit tab.
2. To move to an adjacent cell, select the Move selection after Enter check box, and then select a direction in the Direction box. To stay in the current cell, clear the check box

for our Symbol scanner we are using this apparently is not working, but it might for you!

As the label comes out of the printer...it sounds like your printing in picket fence mode (vertical bars). You most likely have 1 or more pixels out on the printhead...try cleaning first...if that fails... you will have to replace the printhead.
