My Agfa 1212 scanner has been faithful for seven years.
Now it will not scan and there is a window telling me
that the computer could not find the scanner. What to do?
Everything seems to be plugged in and the little green light on the scanner is on.

Motti, Have you tried a new cable(USB)from the scanner to the computer.? Does the scanner try to scan something from the unit itself? and just has no communication with the computer. You may also try to uninstall the scanner and software...then rehook the scanner and try to reinstall.
Otherwise to be honest there are alot of inexpensive scanners available now that probably don't cost more than the cable.

it's a little old...and might not be compatible, but try connecting it to your computer and wait for the windows update center to search online for your scanner's drivers
Hi Friend, You are in need of Drivers for your Snapscan 1212(AGFA),u can down load it for free from the below link,
U have not mentioned which OS are u using but i will provide the link from that u may select the particular OS and download the file which one is needed.And u can also download the user guide for this model

tienen que descargar el driver de la pagina de agfa http://static.agfa.com/digicam_scanner_drivers/
luego renombrarlo cambiando la extensión exe a zip y descomprimirlo en alguna carpeta, colocan instalar manualmente y dan la dirección de la carpeta donde descomprimieron el archivo, win da una alerta que el driver no esta firmado, proceden y con esto queda el driver instalado sin incompatibilidad, pueden revisar el “administrador de dispositivos”. Para scanear, sobre el icono del scanwise, colocan propiedades (boton derecho del mouse) y en compatibilidad colocan con win95
no olviden instalar el driver para que se instale el scanwise suerte y saludos
