Re: No picture in LCD
The most common problem I see in this camera is the LCD harness itself. A crease forms in the cable and opens the B+ line going to the backilght assembly. I would also check the chemical fuses located on the DC input board to see if any are open due to a shorted inverter in the LCD module. The open fuse will show low ohms to ground if the inverter is shorted.
Good Luck my friend!

This is an indication that the LCD is not functioning. You haven't indicated the make and model of your camera but if it has a view finder, try taking some picture and view them in a computer. No view-finder? Just point and shoot some subjects and view then from a computer.
Are the pictures OK? If they are than you might want to maintain that style while looking for replacement parts of service tech.
the ribbon cable that carries the signal to the screen sounds like it has become damaged thatcan cause the problem when it is all the way open it stretches the cable resulting in a gap to form, so when only open part of the way there is still a signal. see if there is anything in the hinge that might be causing the stretching of the cable, as that is almost surely the problem..
Your camera works just like a film camera SLR,. You use the eyepiece
to frame and focus your picture. The LCD screen is for reviewing
pictures taken or menu operations. You cannot preview a shot on screen before it is taken with the camera.
LCD panel Ribbon cable is defective, replace the ribbon cable or Before replacing, try with cleaning the ribbon cable end, that is going to the mother board of the camera.
