Whistling sound We have an Astra Mega II which has been working wonderfully for the past few months, but it has started whistling after five minutes of being on. It is annoying to the point that we can't use the machine anymore but being in a restaurant we kinda need it. It is coming from inside of the machine but I can't tell where. Any ideas?

What you heard was probaly the drive belt, if it stopped after a few seconds, take a glss of water and pour on belt while running and see if it does it while pouring the water, this also works to tell if you have a bad belt or idler pulleys, if the squealing goes away its a belt if it keeps squealing its the idler. If its an actual whistle, before it starts, who knows......

the picture getting darker means the lamp has aged and u need to replace it another thing u need ti replace the mirrors in the light tunnel of the light engine they have faded secondly the noise means the colour wheel has aged you need to replace it u will have to replace the whole light engine cos the color wheel comes inbuilt the light engine and u will be ok ontact lg dealer in your area

It sounds that the horizontal output section circuit to your TV is to be checked. It is really a skilled work. Contact any service technician.

You might check the pulleys that the serpentine belt runs on. Make sure all are free wheeling and not loose or rough or make noise. You would need to remove the belt to check them.

The holes are probably clogged from hard water. Take the whole head assembly and dip it in a bucket of CLR for an hour or so. Then rinse off and give that a try. If your cheap, you can use a bucket of white vinegar and a little bit o water, but the smell is most disagreeable.

If it started after the brakes where changed it might be a problem with installation (maybe brake wear indicators [metal tabs to allert when brake pads are low]) or could just have a pebble stuck inbetween pad and disc. sometimes if the pad /disc wears unevenly, one or the other will develop a lip and this may cause your whistling sound.

It sounds like your Idler pully bearing or your tensioner bearing. Regardless change them both and the surpentine belt too. The sound is letting you know that the bearinf is bad and will fail soon. Good luck
