It ispossible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errorsdue to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main programcontroller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting fromthe flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit thewater at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then thevoltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to novoltage from the controller. This meansthe controller is a suspect. If the machine stops at the wash cycle after the pressure sensor works then it can be the control panel board as the processor or drive is faulty and so there is no output to the motor.
If thewater flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad orthere is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the waterline. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally apressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal tothe program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for themotor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door isshut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.Check thislink to replace the inlet valve:http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/washing-machines/a/7/1408/how-to-replace-the-inlet-valve-on-a-washer-dr.html

Hello rschneeweis
Welcome,

Sounds like a seal or drain hose is leaking or the clamp on a hose has vibrated loose.

Water leaking out the bottom of the machine when washing machine begins agitation cycle. If the machine is turned off the water stops leaking even with the tub full of water.

Let me know if you found it and how you do.

The most common cause of machines stopping mid cycle is not draining. Your machine should have a filter behind the kick plate at the bottom.
If this is not the case please post back for further assistance.

SOURCE: won't drain or spin

Sounds like the lid switch which is only about 30.00 to fix if you do it yourself. It's a little difficult but it's much better than replacing or having someone come in and do it

SOURCE: Washer stopped working when it got to spin cycle

you have a broken coupler...this is a plastic and rubber part that connects the motor to the transmission.  A $20 part

When you receive advice from this website you have to understand that without the item in front of us, we are only able to provide "a best guess" as to what the problem might be based on you description of the defect.  If you haven't described a clear and precise description of the defect you decrease the chances of an accurate reply.  Thank you.

SOURCE: Kenmore 80's series top loader only works on wash and rinse cycle

This is a problem with the pump being stuck so the motor cant turn the whole thing. Turn the washer on its side, underneath you can acces the pump, which is connected to the motor by two long clips. remove the pump and take out the colg that caused it to get stuck.

Lid Switch Assembly

If the washer stops mid cycle the lid switch assembly might be defective. This is a very common problem. The lid switch assembly can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any electrical switches with an Ohm meter for continuity. The switches should have continuity according to their design.

Water Inlet Valve

If the washer stops mid cycle the water inlet valve cold water side may have failed. Most washers have a cold water rinse and so if they can't fill with cold water they just sit indefinitely waiting for the cold water to enter. If there is cold water to the water inlet valve and the cold water works in other parts of the cycle - or to make warm water - the valve is not the problem.

Main Control Board

If the washer stops mid-cycle the main control board might be defective. This is not common. Check other causes first such as the lid or door switch and other components.

How to replace timer on KAWS850LQ0

The buzzing occurs, I turn the washer off, leave it alone for an hour or so, then I come back and begin the wash cycle from the beginning and sometimes it will totally complete the cycle. A couple of times it has just stop at the rinse cycle again. Then I try this same process over again.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Fill cycle stops before full

It's underfilling The water-level switch regulates your washer's fill volume. This switch is usually a diaphragm device with a small, clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level in the tub increases, the pressure on the air in the tube increases. When the pressure reaches a certain level, it activates the switch, shuts off the water, and signals the timer to begin the agitate cycle. If the switch is defective, it may prematurely signal the water to shut off. If so, you probably need to replace the water-level switch.

My Kitchenaid washer stops on the rinse cycle...

Do you have an age of the machine and model number? Is there a "spin only" cycle? On older machines, there was a center knob you could slowly rotate, one click at a time, to advance it through its cycle. Can you do that? If the unit is agitating, I don't believe the belt is your issue. Age and model please.
