Washer is 9 months old. 1 service call already and they put the belt back on. Another service call scheduled to replace pully and belt. I have put the belt back on however macine is very noisey and sounds somewhat like a ratcheting sound. Any thoughts or comments ? It seems to be washing ok.

hi thanks for the question this problem can be a lid switch also if the lid switch is bad , it wont send powerdown to the wig wag solenoid . the spin solenoid is mounted on top of transmission , when plunger on solenoid is activated it drops the clutch and spins , if the solenoid is bad then it wont activate the solenoid , to test to see if you have a bad solenoid disconnect power , on the solenoid you see 4 wires just the red on the left and yellow on right reverse these 2 wires plug in washer . select spin .activate washer if the washer starts to wash on spin the solenoid is ok then i would change the lid switch thanks fr the question THE APPLIANCE DOC

it is the bearing, call 1800-905-9505 and ask for a service smart agreement cost about 200 and it will cover your washer for 1 year parts and labor and the machine will get fixed
SOURCE: Cabrio washer is giving an F 51 Code
The "F51" error code is common problem with the Cabrio. This is an RPS sensor error. The sensor is mounted along the motor windings under the washer and detects the rotation spin speed. The sensors on these units can go bad, causing the error code, and it has been a frequent problem. I would recommend you contact Whirlpool first (due to the unit only being a year old) and see if there is a recall or upgrade on this part. I believe there is. The repair would then be covered by the manufacturer. If I give you the steps to access and/or replace the sensor at this point, you may be voiding any existing warranty you may still have. Some components carry a longer warranty than your normal one year limited warranty from the manufacturer. Something you may consider.
If you have further questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you in some way.
SOURCE: whirlpool cabrio washer spin sounds like a jet now
i am afraid that the noise is ur bearings, give the drum a turn by hand with no washing in it and you will hear and feel a rumble. Dependant on type of washer you can replace the bearing, but sometimes the cost i am afraid is rather high and may be worth purchasing a new appliance.
I hope this helps
