There is a coupling between the motor and the gearbox that has probably broken. It is two pieces of rubber that fit together like a puzzle. It acts like a weak link to protect the far more expensive components. Check under the machine for some fine black shavings in a little pile at about the middle of the machine.

Ref Kenmore 11020902991 fills then does nothing but hums. No agitation drain rinse spin. Nothing. Pump not clogged and coupler intact.

indicates 2 possible faults
no agitation . spinning- indicates a problem start / run capacitor for the motor ( hum )
drain is a separate motor and will not run until drain is activated
and that comes back to the second possible fault
problem program board not progressing to wash cycle
the hum could be a water control solenoid
call a technician for a proper diagnosis

Top load frigidaire washer will not spin, it agitates, it drains

You need to replace the starter cap on the motor this is why it will not turn and the smell is the cap that's not starting the motor it also will hum.

My Kenmore washer (series 90) stopped working in between the rinse and spin cycles. It will not drain (half full as we speak), agitate or spin. It will fill with water but once it reaches the proper water...

Something stuck in Pump. Pump on your model is driven by washer motor, so if Pump can't turn, motor can't work and will hum until it overheats and shuts down.

No spin - agitate

Hi,

You just do this

  • Test the lid switch
  • Inspect the motor coupler
  • Inspect the drover belt (belt drive only)
  • Inspect under the washer for soot (clutch)
  • Test the motor
  • Inspect the pulley
  • Test the transmission
  • Inspect the Agitator
  • Inspect the pump coupling
  • Test the Water switch level
Good luck !!!

Intermittent agitation and spin, mostly just hums, burning smell after replacing drive coupling

sound as if the motor or someting else is sticking release the belt on the motor. check belt for damage. check motor by turning it by hand to see if it is free.

Kenmore 110 Series will not agitate, spin or drain but will fill

you may find that the motor is not going because of faulty capacitor or faulty timer
remove the motor from machine and try running with no loadif it works them maybe the pump is jammed or worse still gearbox is faulty
