Hello, I have a 65" widescreen tv made by Mitsubishi. It has worked fine until recently. When I am watching the tv it periodically "messes up". The picture will become distorted on the top and bottom creating a bow like picture. The picture on the top and bottom middle is out of whack bent towards the center and creates a distorted picture. The t.v. used to fix itself but now it is permanately like this . Does anyone have ideas on what could be causing this? Thanks.
I have the bowlike effect on my picture. I have an RCA 52 in projection tv. Also has double picture. any help would be great. HELP

I have a mitsubishi 65" and the convergence is really bad on the left and right side of the screen and it will not adjust out.

Henlopen's suggestion worked for my TV. I had the convergence IC's soldered and my TV works like new.

I suspect you originally had an intermittent solder connection on the convergence circuit board. This may have damaged the convergence IC's on that board by now if repairing those connections doesn't fix the set.

my 65" Mitsubishi Widescreen Tv does the concave effect at top and bottom of screen when I turn it on. Sometimes it fixes itself in about 5 minutes and otehr times, it goes all night screwed up. Can I fix myself by replacing a board or should I call someone in to fix for me? If so, where do I get it?
My 2002 Mits WS-65819 has the same problem. The picture bows down from the top of the screen, and bows up from the bottom. All three guns are doing this. It turns on fine, and runs nicely for five minutes, then just snaps into this messed up configuration. Is this the convergence IC solder problem others have mentioned or a general power supply problem? How can I get a service manual to help me identify the circuit? Anybody know who publishes this on line? Preferably free?
