Regarding this fault..simply remove the pcb and fit a replacement input jack socket..you will need some basic soldering skill's or take the amp to a tech..

SOURCE: input jack replacement

oh yes it can be fixed quite easily,...but you are best to bring it down to your local music store and have them do it, they'll be fair in price and your amp will be done right,....(no time for that breakin down stuff when your playin your guitar), thanks, cracklin joe

On my Accustic B30 bass amp the input jack is not working. Can this be easily fixed?

Have you checked the battery? Put a brand new one, if that's not the problem, take it to a reputable tech.

Digitech gnx3 makes cracking noise and the clip indicator comes on when it does

Hi Chris,
This is a discontinued product for the work station. Digitech does have a firmware update on their website. Have you tried that? Other then that, usually a bad guitar cord, dirty input jack or faulty input jack caused the cracking sound. These units sit on the floor where dirt and dust collect. Try spraying the input jack with a good quality conduct cleaner. (Radio Shack?) Make sure your guitar jack is also clean and then "exercise" the input by plugging the cord in and out several times. I am assuming this may help since it is the most simple approach. Otherwise, it may be a component issue and that cannot be addressed via email.

I am hooking up a Behringer xenyx 1002B Mic/Line Mixer to my Toshiba Satellite c885-S5194 laptop to broadcast online via meridix. I'm using Audio technica BPHS1 Headset Microphones with XLS plugs and 1/4...

IF your Laptop has a stereo LINE 1/8" INPUT jack, you can take the Stereo ( Left & Right ) LINE outputs on your mixer and feed into this jack on your PC. You will need a 1/4" dual plug for the mixer end to a single 1/8" stereo plug on the PC end. I suspect the problem you are having is either related to your PC only have a MIC input jack or you have something set wrong in your PC's sound config. file. More information is needed to properly solve the problem.

Marshall mg100hdfx head. I get no sound whatsoever plugged into the guitar input but the controls seem to work as I can hear changes in the light ambient static. I will get sound however if I plug directly...

You MAY have a broken input jack. If you can hear changes from the overdrive gain control, that control is just one stage away from the input jack. Also there is a capacitor C60 that is for RF bypassing and if that shorts that will kill the audio. Yes, inout jacks get destroyed by tripping over guitar cables... that is why you run the cord through the amp handle before plugging it in. Of course verify your guitar and cable is good using another amp.

I Have the fender 212 soild state amp. When I plug my guitar in to the input. One of two things happen ethier no sound or a hum.I have had this amp in the shop .Had it returned to me and still the same...

You likely have a bad input jack. A VERY common thing with these. They don't like to work on the jack because one has to remove too much to replace it. Lazy shop! Sometimes the solder has just broken loose or the board pads damaged. Replace the jack anyway as they take a beating.

Find a shop willing to work on it properly and DON'T accept it back until it is fixed!

Another problem with amps can be the preamp output jack switch which fails to close leaving the amp dead... but it usually won't hum much when that happens.

HINT: Loop your instrument cord through the handle so when you trip and yank on the cord it won't break the input jack... saves a lot of jack repairs!

Amplifier not working

The Cube 60 is a guitar amp, Often these problems are due to a damaged inout jack on the unit. People trip over the guitar cable and the cord gets yanked sideways and breaks the internal parts of the jack. Sometimes circuit boards are cracked.

ALWAYS run your cord through the handle or restrain it should the cord be yanked.

The problem with your unit is internal and it will need to be opened and trouble shooting done.

I tune on my frontman 25r and when I input I dont get any sound other than hiss.I tried two different cords and guitars but nothing but his. what should I do?

It sounds like a failure in the preamp stages, but fortunately you can do a lot of troubleshooting externally.

Drive the "power amp input" jack with another source of audio that has some reasonable output... like a small CD player. If this works (no mind the level, just the quality, that will verify if the power amp is OK.

If the power amp is OK, the use the preamp out to another amplifier.

If it is OK, then the Power amp input jack switch MAY be bad, When nothing is plugged into these, the preamp is sent to the power amp by a switch on the power amp input jack.

If you do these tests, you can email me the results and I will give further tests to run.

Amp powers up,all tubes lightup, can hear reverb when you gently shake it, plug a cord into poweramp in and you can hear sound when touching the other end of the cord, but when you plug into the inputs no...

Bridge the preamp out to the power amp in with a short cable while suppling signal to the input..

IF that works, the switch on the power amp input jack is bad. You can try increasing the spring tension, but frankly these jack are poor quality

You could run it that way with a short cable or open the unit to do the repair.

Constant buzzing in my 15 W amplifier

Make sure you have a ground prong on your power cord. Most input jacks nowadays are closed circuit. They have a switch built in that won't allow any sound without the cord plugged in. You may have a damaged jack that will give you a loud hiss, a loud hum or crackling depending on what volume your controls are set at.
