Sony tv no picture on screen

Hello, You probably hit the input button by mistake. If your using cable TV your input setting will depend on how the TV is connected. If your using an HDMI cable check to see what number HDMI the cable is plugging into on the back of your tv and then set the input button to the same port number. If your tv is connected with RCA cables (red, blue, green) Then hit the input to AV.

No signal from HDMI mode when I switch on the TV

HDMI is an input to the TV not an output. You select the appropriate input e.g hdmi 1, hdmi 2 on the remote. There can be a return signal the other way but the cable has to support that. Try a different hdmi cable.

Tv won't switch to "tv"

Your T.V. is programmed to store the last input you've selected. You have to manually switch it back to your T.V. channel input after each time you switch it to HDMI or any other input even when you turn it off. The "Source" or "Input" button on your original T.V. remote will change this.

I just bought a Denon AVR 1611. All inputs are HDMI (Cable TV, Blu-Ray) and the monitor output to the TV is HDMI. ainly I listen to the audio out of my TV and occassional on my surround sound. I would...

avatar7.jpgcurt, I bought this Denon AVR 1611 and I have HD cable. If you have cable you can set it up two ways. First way (the way I have it) is to get a switch box with 2 HDMI
out (mine has 4 inputs and 2 outputs) and maybe 2-4 inputs. Put the cable from the wall in one of the switch box inputs. Now hears the cool thing. Put 1 of the outputs from the switch box to the Sat/Cable input on the 1611 then put the another output to your tvs HDMI input. This allows you to switch from the tv only output or the 1611 surround output without touching the switch box. The other way is to buy a converter from HDMI to VGA. The only thing here is that you would have to setup your sound through Aux in the front of the [email protected]

When i go to hook up a hdmi cable to my philips flat screen it wont recognize that i have a hdmi plugged into it. so what could that be the tv? the hdmi works with my other tv though

Hi,
This model has 4 HDMI inputs, do you get same problem in each HDMI input?
Did you checked HDMI input with any other video source like dvd player or PS3 etc instead of cable box?
Below are few helpful tips to connect HDMI input..
1. Ensure that your HDMI cable is certified.
2. Press SOURCE on the remote control to switch to another source and then switch back to the HDMI source.
3. Reset the accessory device and the TV.
• Turn on the TV
• Select the HDMI channel
• Turn on the accessory device
4. While the TV and the accessory device are powered on, unplug either end of the HDMI cable and then reinsert the cable.
Try above options and if tv still does not show picture of any video source through HDMI then it seems problem of HDMI processor located on main board, visual check is needed by qualified tech or call Philips if tv is under warranty.
Hope these info will help you.
Thanks.

My proscan 32lb30q won't allow me to switch inputs to HDMI. It will only allow me to go between composite and tv channels. I'm trying to set up my laptop to connect. It's not a connection/cable problem,...

First, verify that your computer is sourcing video through the HDMI port rather than looking for an input from it.

What happens if you try to select an HDMI input on the TV with no HDMI cable connected? It should select the port, then complain about "No signal." If you get that, turn off the TV and computer, connect the HDMI cable, turn on the TV first, then the computer.

There are certain HDMI input chips on the market that are very vulnerable to static electricity damage, and some cheap HDMI switches will conduct a static discharge from the switch mechanism to the HDMI lines (a friend blew two chips that way, then he realized both times the input went out when he used the switch). Use a direct cable connection if possible, and avoid putting a fingertip into the free end of an HDMI cable when the other end is the only one connected. Symptoms of static electricity damage may include "no signal" when an active signal source is connected, or some sort of data format error message. I don't know if your TV is programmed to lock out bad ports; I would think there would be some sort of fault indication to go with the lockout.

Every time I turn my Yamaha RX-V565 on it switches to the AV1 input instead of staying on the HDMI input that it was on when I turned it off.

Set your TV, Sattellite receiver and audio where you want it when you turn on the set. Then hit the Scene button named "TV" and hold it down till the yamaha receiver says set complete and it will turn on to HDMI 2
