Cannot upload pictures on my laptop or open library~~~help me...:-(
I've had my digital camera for over a year now and everything has been working quite well. I would plug in my digital camera, my program would automatically load, and I could then view my pictures on AOL.
One day a friend comes over to install wireless internet for me and in the process uploads a program called Firefox. Later I plug in my digital camera and now the pictures are showing up on this program, firefox only it's more difficult to view the pictures, and it's not the same quality. I have my friend delete the Firefox program. Now, I plug in my digital camera and the program tells me there's an error and I cannot view my pictures. I've tried deleting my Casio program and reinstalling it but, it does the same thing. I cannot view my pictures or even open my library... Please help...

Make sure you have completely uninstalled AOL, as this can still cause certain problems.
When you connect your cam you should be able to view pics within Windows my pictues and should ask to import files.
It should also show up in my computer as a drive if it's recognised by windows, if so you can explore it and open the folder with pics in

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.
I had a similar problem recently - the computer wasn't even recognising that it was plugged in. I eventually took the battery out and charged it up, then later it worked perfectly. I hope this is helpful to you.
i figured it out. or rather, my brother did. if you plug it in and everything, nothing on the actually camera will show up, and the finepixviewer or whatever wont open, but all the pictures will now be under your "pictures" folder. you just have to go there and open them.
I have a Cobra camera (I believe it is an 8500) and when I use it without the memory card, it will take pictures. As soon as I put the memory card in, I can't use it. It says I need to digitalize my camera. I put in the date, time, year. Can't take pictures...
