Question about Brother MFC 420CN All-In-One InkJet Printer
I inherited this MFC-420N combo printer. All of a sudden, it won't print color correctly. I have a graphic that is supposed to print in Royal Blue and it prints out in Teal Green. Anyone have an idea on how to correct this ? Also, the printer reports a "low black ink cartridge" when I have a brand new on in it.
You need to start the ink cartridge changing procedure over. Try unplugging the machine for a few minutes.(from the wall and the computer) Then try the ink change over...If that doesn't work don't waste time. Download and install the latest drivers for your printer. Uninstall then reinstall with newer drivers. Let me know what happens. Good Luck, Tim

You did use the word inherit. Try completley remove the printer and download new drivers. When MS updates the OS many different files/drivers/dll's can be changed. Then your printer needs to keep up with the change(printers are always trying to check for updates...that to deal with other updates that changed updates that were updated...get my drift. So it would be worth it for a clean printer install...otherwise Find a printer that uses the same ink as you have and you'll save money in the long run.

Ok, I unplugged the printer for an hour, plugged it back in, changed out the Magenta Cart and still no red printing.
Does this printer have an interchangeable print head or is it one I just have to toss into the can and forget?
Is there a way to use the thing without the color catridges and just print black?
