Question about Canon PowerShot SD550 / IXUS 750 Digital Camera

Taking pictures I have loved using my camera until it stopped being able to take pictures. Whenever I try to take a picture, the red light goes on a few times but the camera never flashes, clicks, or takes the picture. I can still look at my pictures but I can't take them. What is wrong and what should I do?

This could be due to a jammed lens element preventing the camera from focusing properly. When you push the button the camera attempts to focus the image before it takes the picture. If the focus component in the lens is not moving properly it cannot focus and thus will not take the picture. Do you see the camera attempt to focus the image when you press down the button? If it does not make any noises when you push the button, and the camera does not attempt to focus the image then it is most likely a jammed or malfunctioning focus motor. This would require professional repair.

Are you press ligthly? if press half and ligthly, it will not take the picture.

When you have using macro mode, you need to disable Flash mode.macro mode will show picture(flower) and avoid hand shake during this mode.
When you take in 10cm range in macro mode, it will take more longer time to autofoucus, you need to be freeze a while until it take the picture. The best it, try to take picture in without you inhale. it will avoid you from shage

It acts like it's turning on, but doesn't

Hi: With your description of the problem it seams to me that your camera doesn't have enought energy to continuo working properly. The view pictures mode always takes less energy to work while the shooting mode... a lot because it has to load several things on the camera, including the access to the card. My advice is for you to try with different batteries but with a lot of mAh. The recharchable batteries have those numbers that, in a small definition, the higher the value more pictures you can take. Try to get 2 x AA batteries with at least 2100 mAh and try the turn on your camera. I think it will solve the situation. ;) Regards
