How to access to S90 Transmission Control Module?

I want to access to S90 TCM connector terminals A and B. I know TCM locates under instrument panel, but how can I access to the connector terminals? Do I have to remove the underdash first? How? Thansk.

This vehicle doesn't have that type of connector for reading the codes. You have the diagnostic connector in the center console, next to the e-brake under a rectangular cover.

Where is the speedometer on a 1998 dodge neon

The speedometer is in the instrument cluster. The speed sensor, I suspect this is your true question, is located in the transmission. If you look down, I know its difficult to see, where the dipstick tube goes into the transmission you will see a big electrical connector just to the right as you standing in front of the car. You will see the two rubber cooler hoses right above it. There will be a white plastic piece with a two wire connector right under those. That is the input speed sensor. This is not the part that needs to be replaced. The output speed sensors, the part that sends the speed signal to the computer, looks exactly like the input speed sensor but is located about 6-8" more to the right of the input speed sensor. Sometimes it is easier to spot from under the car.

If that sensor is bad it should flag a P0740 code in the pcm letting you know there are transmission codes stored in the TCM. A higher end scan tool (not a code reader) will be needed to get the codes from the TCM (transmission control module)

Hope that helps.

What is the S light on my dash

The problem is the transmission computer located under the riht front carpet and its the smaller of the 2 computers. You need to know what the code is. Use a paper clip and jump between the two wire SCS connector. Turn the key on and count any possible flashes in the check engine light. This connector is usually a blue connector and may be taped to the wire harness on that side with blue tape. If not, look behind the kick panel because they get placed behind this panel.

2_9_2012_10_55_49_pm.jpg

These cars are very bad about the TCM failing. If you get no flashes when you jump this connector but the light is on, the TCM (Transmission Control Module) has failed. Very common.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

Transmission control module, 92 honda accord

It's under the carpet on the passenger's side floor board. There's two boxes under the access panel, I think the TCM is the one on the right? If your's is broken there are probably a couple of capacitors and a resistor that are fried and need to be replaced.
