Question about Dell W1700 17 in. HD-Ready LCD Television
Screen blacked out suddenly with no loss of audio. Unit is wall mounted and has not been dropped or subjected to any sudden shocks. Unit is also plugged into a 2300 joule surge suppressor strip. It is used in a motel mounted near a window above and to the left.
I have the same TV - Same problem. My TV was replaced twice by Dell while it was under warranty. When I contacted the out-of- warranty contractor for Dell, Jabil, I was advised by a tech that Jabil no longer repairs this tv and added this is a common problem w/this TV. He further advised that 98% of the time, it was the result of fuzes f1 and f2 on the inverter board "blowing". If you can't find a local shop to replace these fuzes, plan B would be to send it to a repair center in Ohio, name unrecalled, 800 941-4478. Personally, as this seems to be a recurring problem w/this tv, I'm going to cut my losses and get a name brand

Sounds like an inverter board or panel
