Kenmore dishwasher Have a kenmore 655.15889020 dishwasher which does not appear to be pumping water fast enough. No apparent blockages. Arms circulate very slow. Enough water in sump. Could it be the motor for some reason is running slow? Or maybe some valve is not closing properly.

  • Glenn Nichols Feb 23, 2007

catriver, I agree that the is strange but it appears after the 655. Water does not appear to drain. You can hear the rotors going around very slowly and upon instant opening it appears there is very little water pressure. This is further backed up by the fact that the detergent does not get fully washed out of the recepticle although the door opens. Machine had been working fine for 3 years. Thanks for your further input, fatubu

Fatubu, are you sure you have the correct model number, Im not finding anything on the posted model. They had an issue on models close to this that had an issue with a twisted or missing seal in the pump assy. causing water to fill the pressure switch hose. The dishwasher would drain water after the fill. The fix was to replace the pump and motor assy. Catriver..post back.

Have a kenmore ultra wash , the spinning arms turn very slowly , not much pressure ,I checked for any blockage there is none , why?

Hello,

Their are 2 possibilities

1) not enough water in the tub..water should be level with or just above heat element. IF not enough water in tub the water inlet valve is what i suspect is why

2) the pump filter is clogged and water is having a hard time flowing into the pump to be circulated.
this youtube video will show ya how to take apart the pump to get to and clean filter.

Dishwasher spray arms don't spin & spray water

Check that the water pumped on arms has enough pressure.

My kenmore 665 dishwasher will not pump water to the lower and upper spinner arms. The pump entry screen assy seems to have one tear in it and is dirty. However water does come out if I take off the lower...

Good eye--- Pull kick panel and look underneath. use a bright light to see if there is any drippage or what looks like corrosion on bottom of aluminum motor case. If you see this crud, then motor/pump seal has failed and motor is bad. About 100 motor/100 labor. Let me know if info helps- ED

Apparently no water pressure to upper washing arm.

Hi sounds like there is a blockage in the circulation pump which causes low water pressure as it cannot push the water around. You would have to remove the unit and turn on it's side and remove the circulation pump to clear the blockage.

Also check all the holes in your spray arms for any blockages. Best to remove each arm and clean in the sink. Any blockages causes the arms not to turn.

Suspect blockage top rotating washer arm does not spin

Both arms (upper and lower) are fed from the back of the machine, when you close the door the arms make a water tight seal with the pumped water in your washer.
Check to see that when the machine is full that both the arms will turn with very little pressure. (watch out for forks sticking out of the cuttlery tray etc.)
You can usually clear a blockage by putting a bag over the back of the arm that engages with the pumped water on the arm that "IS WORKING" this will increase the pressure to the arm that is not working usually freeing the obstruction.

Asko D1706.The washing arms have stopped turning.

Can you hear the motor running? If the motor is runningand machine is full of water, but not pumping water around, you have one of the following problems:
-a blockage in the filters or sump preventing enough water getting to motor impellor,
-blocked jets in spray arms themselves,
-or I have had cases where the impellor has broken off the motor, hence motor runs but doesn't pump any water around. Check for blockages first, wouldn't suggest you take motor out and disassemble unless qualified or confident to do so (it's not an easy job if you haven' done it before!!)

Poor cleaning. don't think the pump is getting enough pressure to the arms?

Check if water is flowing into the machine with sufficient pressure.
Check water arms orifices and attachments.
If it is not that check for a blockage on impeller lines.

Very poor cleaning all of a sudden

suspect blockage in the actual spray arms - take them out and clean under the tap. a check is to open the door when in operation and see if the spray arms are rotating. they are made to rotate only by the force of water thro angled jets at the end of the arms
