Our t.v. (which we've never had any problem with) just began acting up tonight. The remote won't work with it any more. We changed the batteries in the remote first but no success. Then I tried the remote on my daughter's identical t.v. and it worked just fine on it. (Likewise I tried my daughter's remote on our t.v. but it didn't work either). Therefore, I've proven to myself that the problem lies within the television. Does anyone have any ideas about what the problem may be? Btw, I did make sure that both the transmitter and the reciever were clean of dirt and dust. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
The remote receiver is probably bad in the TV. It is easy to check if you understand using a meter to test it.

I forgot to mention that the t.v. works just fine if you use the manual buttons on the front of it.
