Screen So Bright I Can Barely See Anything...

I have a HP Pavilion F1503 Flat Panel Monitor which is just 3 years old, but still in good condition. The problem is the amount of brightness displayed on the screen, I have tried to restart the PC, I have tried to adjust the screen brightness with both the PC panel and the Control Panel but nothing seems to work. I have read the INFORMATION FILE for the monitor but no help is listed on it and the HELP AND SUPPORT section on my PC doesn't have any information for my LCD Monitor... Please send a solution ASAP 'cause I really want my Monitor back to normal...:-) (By the way, I'm just 12 years old so please use small words for me!! (I've got my parents permission!!)) Cheers, TechMan72!!! I have a Relisys TL528A LCD Monitor which is not new but still in good condition. Unfortunately the problem is the monitor has gone bad, more specifically and likely is the backlight which is used to light up the monitor. You could fix it by replacing the LCD, but you can get monitors cheaper than a replacement LCD so it wouldn't be very cost effective to do so.

Thanks and please take a moment to rate as fixya.

I moved and I have not use my computer for almost 3 yrs. The computer turns fine, its being updated, but the monitor screen its bright at first and go into dark. How I can fix it? Can it be the power...

are you sure it is not something to do with the computer? perhaps some sort of screen saver?

secondly, there are "power saving modes" on the screen and on the computer, they could darken the screen to save power.

check to make sure these are not enabled.

The monitor is to bright for my eyes on my pavilion slimline s5603w. Please tell me how to dim the monitor. I have already tried the f7&fn keys together. there must be a button on the monitor...

Press the Menu button to open the On Screen Display. Press the Brows button to navigate to the setting menu table. When the menu you want is selected, press the Select button to open the setting screen for that option.

Screen goes black after booting up

amprich63, You should try to evaluate the state of the "switch-mode-power-supply" in the F1503 unit. Reconnect it to a FULLY booted KNOWN GOOD PC that is currently displaying the WIN-desktop screen! Then and only then push the "ON" button for the F1503. Did you see the desktop window?? if only for 1 second? What did you see next? Did you see a BLACK and BLANK screen? or Maybe just a BLACK screen? Do another post to this and tell me EXACTLY what you see or don't see when you shine a bright torch 2-3cm from lcd panel!!! I think you may have a BACKLIGHTING or POWER SUPPLY problem. I'm12fixlouie on fixya. if this was of some help rate this on fixya

Hp monitor black screen

Check for the updated drivers as well as your video card, if you have an internal video card and have tested it (your computer) on another monitor it is more than likely the inverter in the monitor the coils (on the mainboard) need to be resoldered more than likely.
Check the backlight as well

HP Pavilion F1503 1503 15in Flat. screen blanks out constantly

THis is a problem of the invertor board. If you are technically able you need to disasseble the monitor and resolder components around the red or yellow inverter transformers.

Screen So Bright I Can Barely See Anything...

The auto dimming circuit on the ccfl inverter is out.  Replace the inverter and it should cure your problem.  Seek adult supervision for this repair. Do not try it by yourself.
