SWR displays briefly then back 1.1

Your problem is not very well described, but let me guess: while you transmit, SWR peaks shortly to a high value and then drops back sharply.
There are two possible reasons:
1) Strong radio transmission pulse somewhere very close to the antenna;
2) Bad contact between connector and coaxial cable somewhere between SWR meter and antenna. Points to check:
- Coaxial connector on the cable from SWR. Is it soldered properly?
- The coaxial cable: can you see mechanical damage, stress? If you find scratches, broken isolation, sharp bends, etc, try to replace the cable.
- Connection between coaxial cable and antenna (or connector): is it soldered properly, is it not corroded or mechanically damaged?
- Connections inside the antenna (if there are any such joints): look for corrosion and mechanical damage, also loose screws.

If you find multiple places of potential problem, go step by step from antenna towards the SWR meter: if the most distant problematic location is fixed and it still shows this strange behavior, go closer.

Rarely this could be a problem in the SWR meter itself. That can be identified if you replace antenna by a dummy load. Dummy load should never cause bad SWR "flashes" (unless it is mechanically broken, too).

The antenna/cable in threaded piece has come out of the back of the tv. How can I fix that. I tried to put it back but it won't stay. I think I need a new one.

These sets have what is known as a on board Tuner. This means that the Tuner is not replaceable without replacing the entire Board. The good news is that you can replace the Cable/RF connector as long as the shield it attached to is not broke or too bent. Most of the Cable/RF connectors used in these sets have PCB mount . You will have to remove the Signal Board and unsolder the center connection of the broken connector left on the Board. Remount the new
Connector and solder the center connection. You may need a collar nut to secure the Connector the the shield.
I hope this helps,

The signal connector came out back of T.V. Where abouts on back do I put it back in?

hope you mean the cable is disconnected, and not the outside threaded male connector that came as part of the t-v! if that's broken off, could be complicated to replace. if it's the cable (female, inside threaded- electronics can be a bit sexist at times!) then look at the back for 'cable or antenna in' carefully re-attach the female to the male connector. it can become frustrating to get them aligned properly. make sure the copper wire in the center of the female connector is straight!! so it fits properly!
be patient! if it's a 'push on', makes it easier, but not as secure. if it seems loose, a gentle 'squeeze' with pliers can tighten it up, very gentle!!
good luck!

Replacing the antenna mast on Accord wagon

Make sure the broken mast is in the same state as the replacement mast (most likely fully retracted). There will probably be two connections on the unit, motor power and radio signal. Examine the latches on the motor power connector to see how the work; most likely you have to squeeze in a pair of plastic tabs while pulling on the connector (don't pull on the wires!) in order to unlock the connector.

Check the gasket around the antenna base. If it is hardened, and the replacement antenna does not have a good gasket with it, apply an automotive-grade body sealant or caulk to keep water from getting into the car body. (Many of those I've seen use a rubber base without a separate gasket; often this is hardened and will not seal without help once it's been removed.)

If the radio cable has a screw-on connector, put it on snugly finger tight. Cranking it on with a wrench may break the terminal inside (I've seen a number of TV tuners destroyed this way). However, most car antenna connections I've seen resemble over-sized phono plugs and jacks - push on and pull off. Often there is a protective sleeve or boot over the connector; you may have to pull it back along the cable first. Again, pull on the connector, not the cable. If that doesn't work, it may be a bayonet-style connector that you have to push in and rotate a quarter-turn counter-clockwise, then pull it off (I don't recall ever seeing that on an antenna, but it's mechanically possible).

Coaxial output broken

If the connector end is not damaged and the tuner circuit board is not broken, you can solder this back onto tuner, and solder the end back on the circuit board. You should take the tuner out to do this proceedure. A TV shop usually charges $50.00 to do this.

Cable connector broken

You can buy replacement antenna jacks for this. What you have to do is remove the tuner and it's shields, then unsolder the little tab off the board of the tuner which is what remains when they break off. Then you can resolder the new jack in place and the center pin back to the board of the tuner.

1996 32 inch Panasonic TV

What you are calling the "antenna module" is actually the tuner. The connector that pulled out is called the F connector. The F connector can be soldered back onto the tuner but this is a very delicate procedure and is especially difficult if any of the coils in the area of the F connector have been bent, altered or moved. The tuner itself is not too expensive and is much easier to replace than trying to replace the F connector, especially if you have never done one before. If you use this set with a cable box then simply connect AV cables from the cable box to the TV set the TV to VIDEO.
