Question about RCA F32649 32" TV

RCA F32649 I have an RCA Model F32649 32" TV that stopped working only about 18 months after it was purchased. It's now been sitting around for close to three years and I'm hoping it can still be fixed. When I try to turn on the TV, all I get is a clicking/buzzing sound. Anybody got any ideas?

I agree to what stargazer says, it the flyback transformer that makes that noise.

Sounds like you have a shorted horizontal out put transistor and bad flyback transformer. This is a common problem in the newer RCA's. I've had serveral of them do this. The noise that you hear is the power supply telling you that it's overloaded. Stargazer

this is caused by some kind of electrical interference. this can be caused by cd players,speakers, etc being too close to the tube. after you find the culprit and remove or move, unplug tv for about 10 mins, then plug back in

I had the same problem and eventually found the solution. the tact switches behind the front panel buttons will leak when they get old causing them to activate on their own. your channel up or down button is stuck on. take off the back cover and you will see a small clip in circuit board behind the front panel. take out the board and remove the channel up or down switch and your set should work fine again. the remote will still work fine for changing the channels.

this is an old case and Im sure you have a new TV by now. The problem is the tuner. The grounds are cold and need to be re-heated. The tuner is the little box your cable plugs into. Open the back and you will see where it is soldered to the main board. Heat them back up with a little solder should be three points. while you are in there look around and see if you find more. if that doesnt work then you may have to take the case of the tuner off and look inside for more cold solder joints
