Question about Sony KP-57WS500 57" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Sony KP-57WS500 I have green vertical lines on my tv. A few days ago, it suddenly went to double image. Sort of pink and green, like a double image. The pink appears to have moved up and the green moved up. The picture is sort of concave. I did a "flash" a couple of times but nothing changed. Oh, the greenlines are still there -- not sure if these are two seperate problems or not

Hi,
It sounds TV got convergence out ICs failure problem and causing 3D image or outlined picture.
There are 2 convergence out ICs mounted on D board in TV that need to be replaced.
Let me know if you need part number of ICs if you want to replace by yourself or call local Tv tech to fix it.
Thanks.

Sony KP-57WS500 Pictures problem

Your Convergence Correction Amplifier ICs have gone bad (STK329-110) They must be replaced along with the biasing resistors

www.electronix.com has the parts you will need plus I would suggest that you have a qualified TV repair person do the installation for you.

Make sure the traces on the circuitboard are good and that the solder connections are good.

But the ICs and resistors need to be replaced.

Thank you,
