Be sure the internal speakers are turned on in your TV MENU. If still no audio, problem is most likely the MAIN PCB.(could also be the POWER PCB)..Make sure you have the 15 or 12VDC necessary to the MAIN to power the audio circuitry. For part# you will need the complete Model\Serial# for your unit.
First be sure your speakers have not been turned off( this is in your menu selections) then try another source such as a DVD player (this to rule out the source, also try a different input to be sure it is not the input. If still no audio most likely is the Main pcb, but possibly lack of power source from power pcb.
Your main pcb could still have gotten damaged due to the defective caps. The reason you still have audio through the optical is because it is a digital signal only. It is not running through the audio amplifier on the main board. I would suspect either the main pcb or the speakers them self.
Hello, TV won't turn on not always from leak capacitors, T-con or pcb main it self can cause it. Unplug T-con board than turn it on, if still no picture replace main board. If not sure to replace pcb main, i suggest you to call samsung technician. good luck.
Good Day, U-Fix- it;
Try this; CHECK FOR 10 VDC AT PIN 5 OF IC502 OF LOW, CHECK IC503 PART # 270P704010 ON THE MAIN PCB. 2. CHECK R529 .82 OHM 1/2 WATT OFF PIN 4 OF THE FLYBACK. IF OPEN CHECK C411 2200 UFD @ 35V AND IC 451 PART # 270P064020. ON THE MAIN PCB.
CHECK IC700 PIN 4 (AC-OFF) FOR 0 VOLTS DC, IF HIGH, CHECK FOR LEAKY D980 PART # 264P045040 ON THE MAIN PCB. 2. CHECK FOR 4.7 VOLTS DC AT CONNECTOR RF PIN 3 AND 4 ON THE SIGNAL PCB IF LOW SUSPECT PROBLEMS WITH THE SWITCHES/BUTTONS ON THE CONTROL PCB PART # 935D394001.
Good Luck, big IRISH.
If the Video (Picture/Pix) is gone but you can hear the Audio (sound), then it could mean the YSUS PCB Assembly is gone/kaput/finish. Can replace the PCB, not repair the PCB due to timing circuitry involve. Cost maybe roughly $500 depending where you located. The PCB is located on the left hand side of your TV when you are facing the back (Back open). Might find 3-4 brown flex membrane connecting to the plasma panel. The PCB has a silver or black aluminum heatsink (big) on it. Good Luck.
I had the same problem and my tv was out of warranty. I took it to a local repair shop and they told me didn't work on that brand. They said they charge $300 minimum for labor, plus parts. So probably at least $500 to fix. Since I figured we had nothing to lose my buddy and I took it to our shop at work and decided to take it apart and look for any obvious problems such as blown fuses, burned components, etc. All of the printed circuit boards are connected to what appears to be similar to a motherboard via data ribbons. We disconnected the data ribbon of each PCB to the microprocessor PCB and turned on the TV. Each time it turned back off after about 3 seconds. When we disconnected the Y-Main PCB the TV stayed on and I got the sound back, but no picture. We then disconnected the buffer PCB's from the Y-Main to ensure they were not the problem. Finally, we pulled the fuse on the Y-Main PCB and reconnected the data ribbon and the TV and sound stayed on again. I found a site that sells the Y-Main for $179 and I am deciding whether to try it or not. Any suggestions or comments would be helpful.
