Top burners often wont light if oven is already lit

GE JGBP28GEJIBG ser no HZ2541615L My burners only click (igniters) but wont light if oven is on first... always light correctly if oven is off , can light oven if burner is already lit , although more frequently the oven doesn't come up to temp , say 200-250 degrees when set to 400 , when lit by itself or with burner on. I replaced the oven igniter @ 4 years ago , seems to work. Local technician said replace the pressure regulator , haven't done anything yet. Thank You

I have fix that problem before, the oven heat is soficating the top burners, you will have to adjust top burners with the oven on, so that they will light by them selfs.Or put a shield under the cook top section on the back, so that the heat will not come to the burners where they get the oxigen.

Our burners light but when you turn the oven on you can smell gas. Can you tell me what is wrong
most of these will have the oven bake ignitor become weak and not ignite the gas when turned on.
you should see the bake ignitor try to glow orange but the gas will not lit to the burner.
without a digital meter to read the current, should be 3.2-3.5 amps then you wont know if the ignitor is weak.
you could try to just replace it and see if that fixes you trouble.

Hello and welcome,
If your range has electronic igniters, then you seem to have one or more bad igniters on top of the range if you have a pilot range then you have a gas restriction or clogged orifice tube.
Even if they make the click noise while trying to light they may not get hot enough to draw the gas on a constant speed!

This will need to be diagnosed hands on at your location.
But this is the fault!

Oven and broiler will not light.
You've probably done this by now since your message is May (makes us a May-December couple??) but wanted to write that the transformer that produces the park for ignition has failed.  I don't know how accessible it is in your unit, if you check on Sears website under Parts with your model # in hand, they could well have an illustrated breakdown of your range which would give you an idea of how difficult the replacement might be.

Stove top pilot light
I have a GE Gas Stove XL44 the stove top buners don't light by themselves without manual lighting. When I turn on the buner knob the buner doesn't click. Also I used my self- cleaning oven for the first time and stopped it before the time was up after that is when the stove top buners wouldn't light by theirselves.

Resettle the small center tops on the burners. If even one is slightly off center or not level, a burner will not light, although it will click. Cost me a service call to learn this!
