going out the power board to other boards should be 3 5 12 and 24v pins.

Check for bad power supply board.

My tv keeps turning off the red light that is usually on when it is off is gone. I have to plug into different outlet to get it to come back on then it will work normally for a few minutes then back off and repeat the same steps.

No,only the original tv remote that design for that tv model will work only for that tv without a universal codes.All universal remotes have to have a codes enter to program it to make work for the tv dose not mater same model or simular.All the rest same model of tv or simulair tvs the original remote only 50/50 should work,some fuctions just not there or just don't have it.

might be able to use the cable co remote and autosearch thru the codes, but its too hard to explain, the cable tech should have ran that procedure. unfortunately, rca has 50 million models. it is common to have a tv and yes rca for sure, to not take the codes. sometimes the tv is too new for the cable company remotes to work. i am leaning toward the tv too new theory. give it six months and i bet there will be a new remote version.

Comcast actually has several different remotes for their different set-top boxes and the remote codes aren't always the same. They list all of their current remote devices on the following page. If you click on view manual it will give you a list of remote codes.
