We have the same problem with our player. We used to be able to unplug it and eventually it would open. However, it is now stuck with a rented DVD in it. I'll be taking it apart tonight.

my tray won't open & there is a dvd inside, which still plays when I turn on unit. The screen displays "open" when I push the button & I hear noise like trying to open, but nothing happens.

I am having the same problem with my unit. In my case, the red light stays on and never changes to GREEN. The door is intermittant if you plug and unplug the power. I would love to find out how to get it fixed. Anyone have an address or phone number?

Power was on (green) and I tried to eject a DVD. It seemed like it was taking a while (thinking) so I hit the power button, but it wouldn't turn off. When I unplugged player and replugged it in, the light turned and will continuously remain as red. Either way, DVD is stuck in player and can not be played. Any way to reset the device? Thanks.

I just found out that I have the same problem. I haven't used the player in a few weeks and there is a DVD still in there. I hit the power button and it turns on the power led is green. The open/closed button doesn't react. I've unplugged it and replugged it in. The power led goes red until I hit either the power button or the open/close button. There is still no response. Has anyone gotten any resolutions or is it time to take it apart or get another player?

SOURCE: "no disc" pops up when dvd is inserted into Mintek dvd-1600

The laser lens could be dirty. Try using a reliable CD/DVD lens cleaner kit like the Belkin CD DVD cleaning Kit but if that does not work the player could be defective or already broken. I would shop for a better-name brand player on eBay so that I won't spend too much on another player.

I have a mintek MDP 1030 DVD player and lost the instructions. How do you recharge it?

You should have a power cable that plugs into the "AC" jack on the side of the unit. Plug the other end of the cable into the wall.

Mintek DVD-1600 Setup to cable box/tv

A dvd player that doesn't record hooks straight to the television, not the cable box. Tv's typically have av jacks. If yours doesn't, you will need to buy an rf modulator. If your tv has the jacks, U will need to use your tv remote and hit tv video or input or source on that tv remote to switch between input and tv modes.

In need of a power cord for my mintex 1600 dvd player

You usually don't need to call the company to replace the power cord. Go to Radio Shack or your hardware store and find one that will plug in. By calling the company and getting an OEM replacement you will be paying extra for the name on the package. I have bought a cheap small appliance just for the power cord. A bit of leg work will save you aggravation and money.
