While holding down the power button press in on the reset button (reset hole) with your stylus (located on the left hand edge of the unit rather than the bottom) for about 5 seconds.
As annoying as it may be, you might just have to choose the portion that is more important to you - Outlook or the Blackberry. I'm assuming it's the BB.
Since Outlook is different then Outlook Express, you would more than likely have to alter the business contact information in Outlook to make it transfer properly to the BB.
It is a database and not CSV format I'm assuming (comma separated value) format coming from Outlook, but in the process is reads it as a CSV file it seems.
Test it out by entering a dummy business contact and seeing what needs to be where to make it work on the BB.
Since it doesn't have an open source code, I doubt it can be tweaked aside from that.
As far as I know active synch which is the default app, does not support synchronizing subfolders. It is no question of firewall or antivirus, unfortunately microsoft designed it this way. There is a third party application though, Intellisync which is going to enable you to synch subfolders, however they will appear all in one big folder on your IPAQ.
Alternatively it will however take over the settings if you categorize the contacts and that has nearly the same "effect" as if you used subfolders. If you choose to use categories, then you can even keep your normal active synch, cause that it will synch fine. Not a bad thing cause third party applications are never perfect and Intellisync is unfortunately not free. You can add the categories to your contacts even while keeping your original subfolders in outlook, just match the categories to them and it will "look" perfectly the same on your IPAQ but yes you have to edit contacts one by one, so this is a one time big job then.
the h1945 series is a very intresting pda. I have seen all sorts of problems relating this one. There are some things you may want to try. Based on that knoledge I may be able to find what's rong with your unit. First, check if the back cover fits tight on the back of the unit. It's important because on some ipaq models, there is a small micro-contact that doesn't allow the unit to power on if the back cover isn't attached. I'm not sure if the 1945 has one, it's been 2 years since i've last phisically repaired one of these, but you may look for one yourself. It's a small contact near one side of the back opening, check to see if it can be pressed. If you don't have anything like this just ignore this tip. Second, leave the pda connected to the charger for about 6 hours. Even if it doesn't do anything. Then try to start the bootloader by pressing the 2 outer keys near the D pad (simillar to the hard reset procedure) then, while keeping those pressed, press the power button and in the same time press the soft reset button with your stylus. You must do this with your charger connected to the pda. It may be difficult to achieve in the first try. Just try to do this a few times and if the pda doesn't respond even now, please post back. Furthermore, if you need more info about these 2 tips please reply.
I have this problem too. The only way I can correct it, is by removing the battery, reinstalling it and letting it boot up again. Then I plug into the USB port for iPAQ and it seems to connect to ActiveSync. It's a real pain.
The pc clock needs to be set to daylight savings time. To do this right click on the time on you pc go to the time/clock settings and then click on the time zone tab and below the clock is the box that says automatically adjust for daylight savings time make sure that is checked and then re-sync the iPAQ.
