Question about Avanti EC15W-2 Compact Refrigerator
I don't know why people are posting non-avanti refrigerator questions in here, but I have a problem specifically with the cube-sized, Avanti compact refrigerator. The fan is working, I don't know how to check if the compressor is working, but one day all of a sudden I went in there and it was not cold inside anymore. Why did this happen, we have owned it for less than a year! It is on the highest setting. I turned it off for a while, and turned it back on, still nothing. I felt semi-cool air coming out from the fan, but when I leave it for a while, there is no change in temperature. What could have happened? This is only a Refrigerator, there is no Freezer, it is not capable of freezing.
I had this same problem. I did some troubleshooting and figured out that the fan was being bogged down by ice. It wouldn't spin because the ice was so heavy. I turned the power off completely and let the ice melt. Once the ice was removed from the fan, the fridge began working again!

If the top of the freezer is cold and the bottom is not, you may have a problem with your fridge heater/defroster.. If the heater element go bad the top part will freeze over and block the air passage to the bottom of the fridge. If it really gets bad and you don't unplug the fridge or get it fixed it can cause more damage by freezing the fan blades and causing the fan motor to overheat and add a fan to the bill..
Frost free is just a continual cycle between freeze and thaw, the little heater element which cause the thaw takes a beating..
