You may have to use CS (Cable Select) jumper, unless this is an old drive where it may be on it's way out. Instead of trying auto detect, highlight primary master drive and press enter and see if it is recognised.

My PC with 865PE Neo2-FIS2R doesn't boot on SATA HDD... It actually runs windows server 2000. but after an unexpected power shutdown... the pc always boot on Managed PC Boot... upon checking on the Boot...

Hi Good day!! well i think your board didn't detect your HDD for some reason:
1. unexpected shutdown
2. cable not properly connect in HDD to motherboard
3. HDD have been damage because of improper shutdown.

here are the step to detect your HDD
1.pull out your cable from the HDD and then re-insert it make sure it its inserted properly.
2.go to CMOS and then in the "MAIN menu" check the primary master, primary slave, etc. in the primary master your HDD should be detect there. if not enter your primary master for auto detecting.
if nothing happens and still not detected you must replace the cable of your HDD.

Pls. Reply to help you more

Hard disk is not detecting samsung sp0411n internal hard disk is not detecting

Make sure the power cable and IDE cable is plugged in properly then boot your computer up again. If it does not work, test it on another computer to see if the hard drive works at all.

I have 1tb hdd but the windows did not detect my hdd, but on the cmos it is detected what should i do

If it is seen in the Bios ..it probably just need a 3rd party Raid driver to operate it ...I assume that it is on a sata bus...and the problem is kinda common ...Another thing ..take a look in the cmos setting and look where the hdd is seen if there is something called ACHI ...that needs to be disabled in order to see the disk auto in windows...otherwise it will be detected in bios..but when you try to install windows on it it loads the primary files and says that it do not find any hdd..on the system ..
If you already have one disk with the operating system and you just added this one ...and you need it like a secondary ..try to go to device manager and force the detection by right click on the computer (in device manager ) and choose scan for hardware changes..if it is all ok with it ..this should make it enabled and the windows will install it automatically
Another thing that it may be wrong ...in case you added it new..and like secondary ..is that it is not formatted and has no partitions ..in this case try to use a program like partition magic or ..a bootable windows to run it until you see the partition ...and from the unpartitioned space will appear ..make at least 2 partitions and stop the installation ...
than just boot normally ...and format the partitions in windows..
If it is a Ide hdd be sure you select the right pin -jumpers position ..in accord with the position on the ide cable ...I mean master or slave ..
In all cases default the bios settings first ..and after that look for ACHI feature and disable it ..

Can't get BIOS settings right

First check to see if your drive (the 160Gig) is set to master or slave. If you are going to use this drive as your primary drive (boot disk) it must be set as master, and it would be drive 0. If, on the other hand, this is a second drive, it should be set as "slave, and should be drive 1. If there is an auto-detect HDD in your Bios, try that. If not, and this machine still won't detect your HDD, you may need to download and install a Bios update, because if your Motherboard is too old, it may not recognize a 160 Gig HDD.

Sata HDD set in primary master in Bios

Try considering these:

1. DOS disk doesn't recognize SATA, that's the truth
2. You're going to have a problem if you install OS in your computer (solution: do not select SATA in HDD type but rather IDE)
3. For your SATA HDD to become primary (boot first) try to select your SATA HDD as devic first to boot..

SAMSUNG IDE HDD SP0411N (40GB)

Hi,

Three possible reasons:
1. Your IDE cable is defective or is not seated/plug in correctly. Try to replace or re-seat/re-insert;
2. The on-board disk management of the hard disk is corrupted/defective. There is no remedy except to replace the PCboard or the entire hard disk;
3. Your motherboard BIOS/CMOS needs to be flashed and/or something is wrong with the IDE interface.

Of the 3, # 1 is the most common.

Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

good luck and kind regards.

Harddisk

Check the jumper settings on the back of the drive, if this is the primary HD, set it to master, if secondary, set it to slave, if secondary still does not recognize, switch the ide cable so that the two drives are not on the same one.
