Proscan tv surround sound hook up

This depends on whether you have digital cable box or not. If you have a Digi Cable Box look for the red/white RCA output and connect this via RCA cable to the Red/White Audio input on your surround.

If just Basic Cable look for a red/white audio output on the back of your televison. connect this to the Red/white in on your surround. Could be called tv in or auxillary.

Cannot get digital output

Digital output is for the reproduction of 5.1 or higher surround sound.  Though it will support 2.0 audio it is not meant to be hooked up to a tv, but meant to be hooked up to a surround sound reproduction device.

Umi freeview dvd tv combo to surround sound

I am not familiar with the manufacture and model of your TV set. This does appear to be a compatibility issue between the TV set and its DVD player, and the surround speaker system. The TV set may not be able to directly send the proper information to the speakers. I would consider to call the manufacture support people to have a definate answer.

You did not say if you have connected the video out on the surround system to the video in on the tv. If not connect it and select that input on the tv.

Help getting sound from New Sony LCD Television Model XV HTD520 DVD Player with Surround Sound S HTD520

While I could not find it in the manual, I found that you must
go to the menu, open Sound Options and set Speakers to "Fixed".

Note: If you turn off the Surround Sound or DVD player combination you must then go back to the menu and turn the speakers back to Televsion.
