Problem #1. The screen turns all white, for any reason. I can use it for a couple of days and it works fine, then, suddenly I can't see the screen. I sent the camera back for repair, Sony fixed it but 2 months later the same problem re-appears.
Problem #2. The lens got stuck inside the camera, when turned off the lens little door stays open.
Problem #3. My camera doesn't want to turn on, it sounds like it's going to for about 3 seconds but then it turns off, I still see white screen.
Sony Guarantee already expired and I don't know what to do, I don't want to pay $110 dls.

"1. Hold camera firmly in left hand 2. Smartly rap front of camera with knuckles of right hand on the "Cyber-shot" logo."
I really thought you were joking, but still went ahead and did it just for the heck of it as I was so frustrated with the camera. To my surprise, this worked like magic. Hats of to who ever said this. You are a genius and Sony should probably beg you and hire you.. Who ever this is... Thank you so much.
1. Hold camera firmly in left hand
2. Smartly rap front of camera with knuckles of right hand on the "Cyber-shot" logo.
It worked, now the LCD is working again for free.
don't need to pay Sony $111.00 for repair service.

Normally there are two reasons for the given problem.
1). Bad or defective CCD. and/or
2). shutter not working.
in
the first case the only solution is the replacement of the CCD. Please click HERE
And in
the later case sticking of shutter blade, non functioning of shutter
blade will cause the problem. This can be rectified by sending it to
some repairer.
my screen is not appearing it started last four moths after some few minutes the time comes and when any of the key pad is pushed sudden it will vanish and the screen turns white.
I believe I've figured out what caused my white screen problem. I finally broke down and purchased a nice holster for my 8525. It had a magnetic catch to keep it closed. Within a couple of days I experienced my first white screen. I thought that was pretty wierd, but thought it must just need to be re-booted. Later that night the same thing happened. Throughout the weekend it happened many more times. I got on the internet to see if anyone else was having the same problem...OMG. In site after site the same thing; my 8525 has developed a white screen. I came across one where the writer mentioned that he had just purchased a case with a magnetic closure. I took mine out of the case I'd just purchased, changed the battery, and turned it back on. I have not had a white screen since. I'm back to a velcro closure forever! Good luck.

I have Fuji FinePix 2650 Digital camera with same problem. I can almost guarantee this is not a firmware problem. I went mountain biking a few months ago and take pictures. I take out camera and turn on. I get lines then white screen. I banged on camera and fixed it. Later a few weeks ago I turn it on and white screen. i beat this thing and get bad menu selection screen for a moment then white again. It takes pictures well and talk to computer no problem but no LCD picture. I thinking it is loose connection for LCD. Send it for repair or if you seek adventure try to fix it yourself!
Well it ewill need to go back toKodak to be rectified.
But if it still takes pictures - live with it.
Tthe cost of repair will be well on the way to a new camera
