Module compile error

Tried to install the Avery Wizard 3.1.5 with Holiday Graphics on computer for my mailing labels, but it does not install correctly. Gives a Compile Module error and I called Avery and they said I would have to contact Microsoft because it has something to do with how my Word was installed. Some settings would have to be changed???

The Avery add in includes a VBA macro which gets compiled. the Avery macro is not compatible with office 2010 because unfortunately microsoft keep changing things so presumably you have installed office 2010. if you could find the offending module and look at the code, then it could be corrected. Avery are pretty POOR to not be able to correct their own code. Microsoft deal with it here https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2010-word/compile-error-in-hidden-module-azwizardmodul/fac4e653-de70-e011-8dfc-68b599b31bf5?msgId=7e73aa04-eb70-e011-8dfc-68b599b31bf5&auth=1 and i must say thats a pretty terrible response from them as their labels creator is AWFUL and its handy to have the avery one. I use the Avery Denison Design Pro 5(free download) and thats useful to have.

Im trying to print avery labels but my printer does not have a setting for it

Normally support for printing Avery Labels is found within the application you are using to create the labels to be printed, i.e. in Microsoft Office Word or similar publishing programs. . . .Avery provide a Wizard extension to use in Microsoft Word to help you to produce and print on their labels. . . .See http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/Templates-&-Software/Software/Avery-Wizard-for-Microsoft-Office.htm for further details and to download the Wizard. . . .Note: You need to allow Macros to execute within Microsoft Word in order to use the Avery Wizard.

I have installed Avery for my Word 2007. I am trying to do labels from an existing excel spreadsheet, also 2007, and when I get to the point to select from existing file it says there was an errora and...

Jill (guerinje),

I might have a solution for you.

I recently ran into this issue as well. When using the Avery Wizard (Avery Wizard 4.01 - US 20111209.exe), I was able to select the Avery Product template, the customization Design, and could select the 'Merge data from an existing data file' option, but when I clicked 'Next' to continue, I got an aborted list of recently used data files and then an error pop-up stating that the Avery Wizard encountered an error and needed to close. There was also the option of notifying Microsoft of the error.

Here is the solution that worked for me - TAKE CARE - This solution makes changes to the computer's Registry: WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall Windows.

These instruction are for Windows XP. Other operating systems will most likely require adjustments to the steps below.

Step 1: Open the Registry Editor: Click the Start Button -- Select 'Run...' -- Type regedit -- Click 'OK'

Step 2: Select the Registry Entry: In the Left-Hand pane of the Registry Editor, double click on 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER', then on 'SOFTWARE', then 'Avery', then 'Avery Assistant', then '4.0', then single click on 'Recent Data Files'.

Step 3: Backup the Registry Entry: On the 'File' menu, select 'Export...' -- Select your Desktop for the 'Save in:' field -- Enter a name for the backup of this registry entry: I used 'Avery Recent Data Files' -- Make sure the 'Save as type:' is Registration Files (*.reg) -- click the 'Save' button.

Step 4: Delete the Registry Entry: In the Right-Hand pane of the Registry Editor, ignore the entry for '(Default)', select the entry for File1, hold down the 'Shift' key on your keyboard and then select the last file value (for me it was File9 - File10 was actually listed between File1 and File2) -- When all the File entries are selected, right click on them and select 'Delete'.

Step 5: Exit the Registry Editor: Either Select the File menu's Exit option or click the red 'X' button in the upper right corner of the Registry Editor Window.

Step 6: Restart the computer

Step 7: Login again

Step 8: Test the Avery Wizard in Word to verify it works. If it does not work: You should restore the registry values you deleted by double clicking on the 'Avery Recent Data Files.reg' backup that you saved to the desktop in Step 3.

Step 9: If the Avery Wizard works again: You can delete the 'Avery Recent Data Files.reg' backup that you saved to the desktop in Step 3.

And that's it. This process worked on the two computers that were having this issue at my office. Hopefully it will work for you as well.

Good Luck,
fnis

I inatalled the Avery Wizard software and access to it is not on my desktop or anywhere else. I hvave a new HP notebook runnjng Windows 7.

I suspect that the Avery Wizard is to be used in conjunction with Microsoft Office and its not a stand alone software product in of itself.

1. Go to Avery.com
2. Over on the left side, please find "Template & Software Advisor". It should be the third one down.
Click on this link
3. Click the top "Labels"
4. I clicked "NO" for mail merge options, but you may want yes.
5. Click the top operating system "Windows"
6. Click the top "I'm open to all Avery Solutions"
7. Click yes to install on your computer
8. Please read the message on the far right under "You might like to download Avery Wizard for Microsoft Office"

In other words to access and use the wizard, you need to be in one of the Microsoft Office products like Word and print labels. If you're looking at your destop and you press F1 (Help) with no other applications running, type in "printing labels". Please note that you get to select the vendor such as Microsoft or Avery under the option "Label Vendor".

How do you type and print Avery labels 74520? I have lost the instructions which came with the labels.

This can be done with settings through your word processing program. Assuming you are using Word:

Microsoft Word 2007
The newest version of Microsoft® Word now includes hundreds of Avery Templates for labels, business cards, dividers and more.

Find Avery Templates by selecting the Mailing tab at the top of the Microsoft® Office Word screen. Just choose Create > Labels > Options > Avery US Letter, then choose your template by selecting the correct Avery Product Code.

Access Pre-Designed Avery Templates that are available from Office Online by selecting the round Office button at the top left of the screen, selecting New and then choosing the Avery product type. Pre-designed templates for Avery business cards, greeting cards, dividers, labels, note cards and postcards are available.

Avery Wizard for Microsoft Office is a free download which inlcudes step-by-step instructions to format Avery labels. Trust this is helpful. :)

No Avery Wizard Icon

In your Word if Avery add-on is installed correctly you should see Avery option in your View/Toolbars. and you have to activate it to see on your toolbar
If missed you have to reinstall the add-on: be sure to use the version for your specific MSOffice version.

Avery DesignPro Error while initialising

Reinstalling and restarting won't solve the problem. For some reason Avery design pro limited attaches it self to windows user account. You can create another windows user account and run the program and it will work. When you start the program in the new windows user account it will ask you for your name "Author Name".

MAILMERGE USING "WORD" & AVERY LABELS

If you have Microsoft Word, you can open a template of the label you're using (which is free from Avery if it isn't already in Word) and make that document into a mail merge document.
