Sceptre TV unexpectedly changes input source away from HDMI

Changing cable channels or tv volume from our Bright House cable remote will sometimes cause our Sceptre TV to change to the default TV source from the HDMI 1 source. We just added a Phillips Blu-ray Home Theatre sound system and its volume and direction buttons will sometimes do the same but from HDMI 2 so we are thinking the problem resides in the Sceptre TV. However, our Roku media box on HDMI 3 has never done this but uses a Bluetooth remote.

SOURCE: new Sceptre 37" LCD TV does not turn on

I just got a 42" komodo by Sceptre, same problem, except "SCEPTRE" showed on the screen. I was sent a USB key program to insert in the service slot in the back and it reflashes the bios. This is old news for you but maybe new for someone?

I have started setup for hd cable. Am connected to hdmi and have picture and sound but am unable to change channels. What do I need to do.

With the HDTV set for an HDMI Input that matches the HDMI Jack that you've connected to the cable HD STB (set-top-box or "converter"), use the cable STB remote to change channels on the STB - not the TV.

You can not change channels of the STB with your TV remote. You may however, be able to program your STB remote to operate your TV. Most will allow you to power the TV on / off; volume up / down / mute; change input (HDMI1 / HDMI2 / ANT / Composite / etc.) and even some of the more complex functions as well. Contact your cable company for more details.

How do I get to my HDMI channel?

If you have the remote for the television you can select the input channels by locating the "Source" or "Input" button. You'll then be able to select HDMI, VGA, TV, etc.

If you're lacking the remote the television itself should also have an Input/Source button in which you can then use to select HDMI.

Note: If using the television buttons pressing the Input/Source should cycle through the available selections, if not you may need to press this button ONCE and then cycle through your choices using Volume or Channel buttons. Once highlighted for a few seconds it should automatically select the desired channel - if not you will need to press your Input/Source button again to confirm your selection.

How do i get my nintendo wii console to appear on the tv screen ive tried every channel and hdmi and such and nothing i know its on and working cause i feel the wii remote vibrate just nothing shows o

Kate what did you plug the cables into I suspect it was a grey cable with a red , white and yellow plugs. If I am correct this cable should be plugged into the AV1 or AV2 input port of your television. Try changing the input source to AV1 or AV2 Check it is plugged to AV1 on the Television and not into Conponent input !

Tv does not respond to any input only shows nosignal to any device

Did the TV's source get changed? If you use the Television remote and find the source or input button which switches between the video sources for your TV such as HDMI, A/V, Television Tuner,, VGA connector or Component video. If your using a cable box that remote only controls the cable box and possibly the TV power and volume but the cable box remote does not change the source input of the TV. Most Cable boxes rebroadcast their video on a specific TV channel and your TV must be set to that channel to receive the signal from the cable box. Let me know if this helps you out.

I can't get the function to switch from TV to DVD

Hi Gary,
Previously Tech Support here of ATT Uverse. For your issue you may want to try this steps by changing the input: click number 7(same as input) on your att remote you should have input lists on your tv screen. If not doing anything use your TV remote and find there input, source or tv/video and you should have input lists on your tv screen. For the input you should choose HDMI 1 or 2 if you are using HDMI cable. If not try to choose anything on the input lists and you should get the right input in order for you to watch on your DVD and going back to TV. Hope it helps

I have dish network and have my satellite receiver connected to TV via HDMI port 1 and have no signal flashing across screen while on. I can change volume and use all buttons on TV and remote except...

Based on what you're saying it can only be a few things.
Trying putting the HDMI cable into a different port on the tv and change input.
Try changing the HDMI cable.
If that doesn't work, change over to component cables, change TV input again and see if that works.

How to find source for model WS-28W63N without the remote control

Sometimes you can unplug the hdmi cable and power off the tv and unplug power to tv wait 10 sec plug tv back in and then insert hdmi cable. Some of the newer tvs will auto tune to the input if that dont work, try getting a universal remote program the remote to control tv if you can control tv volume, power , menu then you should be able to navigate to the input menu and select hdmi that way

LG HDTV LED

Sounds like you might have a defective unit, or the source that is connected to your tv (cable box, dvd etc) is going out. A lot of times if you have a cable box, glitches, loss of sound and/or color are because of the quality of the input source. Try changing the channel. If the problem is the same on any channel - or on your dvd/xbox, then it is probably a defective tv. You may be able to get it exchanged through LG. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Hi, i was trying to turn down the volume on my tv (its an insignia) and i accidentally hit the channel button and i think it messed up the programming of my tv to my cable box. what should i do?

try setting the tv to channel 3 or 4. if that does not work, try finding a "input" or "source" or video" button on the remote and cycle thru them, this should get you back up and running. remember to have the cable box turned on during this so youll see when it comes back on.

Orion TVD2710. Lost remote, can't change signal input

I would suggest you try to find a universal remote that has an "input" or "source" button and program that one to your tv. By pressing the "source" or "input" button, it will change the input to the tv. I hope this helps! -Der Strom
