Connect the yellow connector of the camera to the TV Video input 1 or 2 Using the remote select the right video input on your TV by pressing, Video or Source on the remote to select the video input 1 or 2 whichever, input you connected the camera to that input needs to be active using the remote or keypad on the side of your TV set.
It sounds like your TV's display has been routed to
a different INPUT than the Cable/TV input jack, like a VCR in put or an
RCA input. You need to change the input back to TV from VCR or LINE1
or RCA, so on. How to do this without the original remote, you are
going to have to look up the program code for the universal remote and
program that remote correctly, once done, change the TV Input until
you're back on cable.
I came across this looking for a similar solution for my Samsung TV, and I found the solution on ehow.com. Apparently after you program the remote for your TV you have to hold mute and select again until it flashes twice then put in 960 to make the remote control TV input too. Note you're remote should be in TV mode while you do this. It seems silly that the DirectTV guy wouldn't do this when programming the remote.
your not saposed to use your tv remote to change chanels if you put it on input 2, im assuming you have a cable box, that is plugged into input 2, and if you are using the cable remote, after you put the tv on input 2, make sure you push the little cable buttom at the top of the remote befor you change the chanel
Usually one connects a RF [cable tv, Dish tv, antenna ] cable to the INPUT of VCR & a RF cable output to tv (antenna )INPUT .The reason is that if you are watching TV reception (Cable, Dish, etc) and you want to watch VCR tape, just push the tape in and it should start playing picture. From what I understand that you are trying to say:: [ YOUR NEW TV ! ] you MUST connect to the RCA jacks, CABLE S with RCA plugs that come out of the VCR to the new TV [ INPUT & OUTPUT] jacks .When you ["" use input botton on VCR remote"" ] you are using a DIFFERENT input signal. You are not letting the TV know that you are changing the signal from RF(antenna, Cable, Dish, etc)to the RCA signal ["" I use my input botton on my vcr remote""]
Make sure to switch the TV's tuner mode to Video or Aux mode.
You can change the mode using the original TV remote or directly from the TV's control panel.
Again, tuner mode picks up all live broadcast airwaves and Video or Auxillary mode displays what is inputed into the TV via second device..
