The problem could simply be a blown thermal fuse inside the control panel. ... Maytag Dishwasher Repair ...
Unit is Dead, No Lights, No OPS Some units will have thermal fuse of some sort in the wiring before the control. If this fuse is open, no power will get to the control or display. Before checking this fuse, make sure the correct voltage is present at the junction box for the dishwasher. If all is OK, you have a control or keypad issue FAULTY.God bless you
If it doesn't run and you have no indicator lights, check the circuit breaker for that outlet. If it is ok, test the output voltage at the plug-in for the machine (115Vac). If it is "live" then check inside the control panel (turn off the breaker first) for a fuse that appears blown. If no fuse problem, CAREFULLY (with breaker back on) see if the main switch is getting power. If it is getting power, the control board is shot...replace it!
FIRST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE POWER TO THE DISHWASHER. IF IT HAS A LIGHTED PANEL AND ITS LIGHTED UP, YOU HAVE POWER. IF NOT LIGHTED UP WHEN TURNED ON, THEN YOU HAVE A POWER LOSS PROBLEM WITH A FUSE OR BREAKER OUT TO THE SUPPLY WIRE TO THE DISHWASHER. CHECK YOUR ELECTRICAL FUSE BOX OR FUSE THAT SAYS DISHWASHER IN THE ELECTRICAL BOX IN YOUR HOUSE. RE-SET THE BREAKER OR CHANGE THE FUSE. IF IT STILL DOSE NOT START UP THEN YOU MAY HAVE AN ELECTRICAL CONNECTION UNDER THE DISHWASHER THAT IS NOT CORRECT OR NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT BY AN ELECTRICIAN. DO NOT TRY TO CHECK THIS AREA UNLESS YOU HAVE THE FUSE OR BREAKER OFF. THEN LOOK TO SEE IF YOU HAVE A LOOSE CONNECTION. RE-TIGHTEN THE LOSE CONNECTION FOUND, TURN ON THE FUSE OR BREAKER AGAIN, AND SEE IF THE LIGHTED PANEL LIGHTS UP. IF IT STILL DOSE NOT START UP, THEN NEXT CHECK THE DOOR TO MAKE SURE IT IS CLOSING ALL THE WAY, THERE IS A SWITCHON THE DOOR THE SENCES FULL CLOSED AND WON'T START UP IF THE SWITCH IS NOT CLOSING. IF THIS DOES NOT FIX IT THEN YOU WILL NEED TO CALL YOUR LOCAL DISHWASHER FIX IT MAN. DISHWASHER HAS A PROBLEM HE MUST FIX.
If the unit won't start and there are no signs of power make sure you're
dishwasher is getting power. If so then likely you will need a new
fuse which if you go to the link below, you can download a video to show
you how to replace the fuse on your dishwasher.
Yes there is a fuse or circuit breaker at the fuse panel in your home.
if circuit breaker, the breaker will be half off.. to reset turn all the way off and the on again. If it trips again your dishwasher may have a short be it the element, or the motor
Ok, this is a control fault that may be corrected by shutting the power off for 5 minutes. this will reset the chip set on the control board. plug the unit back into the socket after the 5 minute ait and check to see if the element is still on. If so, replace the control board.
Start by checking for loose or melted wires under the dishwasher underneath in the "junction box". if the wires arent melted and the plice is ok. then you may need to look for the thermal fuse by the control board. make sure your breaker isnt tripped. go and turn it all the way off then back on.
