Ps3 keeps freezing, black and white lines come up on the screen
Hello my ps3 lets me play one game and then freezes and black and white lines come up on the screen, it also seems to be heating up very quickly it is a 60gb play station 3 and i just dont know wats wrong with it.

• Check to see if the vents are blocked. If the vents are dusty, vacuum the vents to remove the dust.
• If the PS3 system is in an enclosed area like a bookshelf or entertainment center, move it to a more open area.
• Leave the PS3 system off for 30 minutes to let it cool down.
• If you continue to have issues, you will have to send the system in for service."
Whenever a PS2 game is run in backward compatibility mode, there's always a chance of a problem arising.
There were/are problems with this series of games running on the PS3. You'll have to wait until either Sony or the games publisher release an update to rectify the situation.
i will turn on my ps3 it goes to the main screen shows but the game cd doesn't show so i will have to eject an put it in and it would start playing but it will keep freezing then when i'm playing i will beat a level then freeze so it want save every time

It is freezing because your playstation is to close to the tv and its getting to hot...it is due to overheating you are having this problem ... so try moving it to another spot....you must take care to keep it properly vented....... The system is prone to overheating, particularly if you happened to have bought older stock. One way to deal with this is to stand it vertical, and put a small desk fan behind it.Turn on the fan when you turn on the game. I know it's an annoyance but it is a very simple and effective way to work around the problem. DO NOT use an intercooler fan or any cooling device that gets power from the playstation. It just makes it worse.
when thermal compound fails it gets overheated so you need to look into this too ...replacing the thermal compound on the heat syncs and it should only cost about $5.00 to fix your playstation.
