Error 'F61' can anyone help please?

Hi, I have a friend who has a Panasonic SC-DT100 system which has recently shown the error number 'F61'. According to the manual this is either "Check & correct the speaker cord connections, or if this does not work there is a power supply problem" Well I know from my friend the speakers were all connected ok as it has been working great up til now. So I can only assume it is the power supply. What I'd like to find out is... 1. Is this a costly part to replace & where can I buy one from? 2. Should it fairly straight forward to swao the supplies over? 3. If my friend were to take it to a Panasonic approved repair center would it cost alot (I tend to think it might). I'm normally ok when it comes to sorting out electrics but I thought this would be the best place to ask for advice. Any help or advice would be gratefully appreciated.

My unit had the same F61 problem. Open the hood, put one hand yout back to prevent electrocution and power it on. The fan turned quite slow wit a grinding noise. I replaced the fan (specs 4x4x1 cm 12V 0.2A) with another fan (specs 4x4x0.5 cm 12V 0.09A) and the unit is working fine again.

I have the same problem and have found a couple of suggestions:
- check each speaker connection individually to find if one is not working correctly
- check that fan is working correctly. One user said that he had to open the machine and just add some oil on the turning wheel of the fan.

Hope any of these tips work. I will try it myself also.

good luck

F61 Means either speakers are wired incorrectly or there is a power supply problem. This detail is shown in the operators manual. Cheers graham

How do i connect my sytem directly to the tv not just the dvd player?

Connect to the audio out of the TV, assuming you have a RCA audio out (red/white) on the TV. (Audio out of the TV to one of the Audio in of the SC-DT100)

The manual for the SC-DT100 is available from Panasonic here: http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Audio/Home-Theater/Home-Theater-Systems/model.SC-DT100 .

Some new TVs only have digital audio out, this isn't compatible with this home theater system's inputs.

I hope this helps.

Turn on dvd panasonic sc-ht440 the display see me f61

Hi, F61 is and amp error code. probably needs an output ic. could be a shorted speaker or bad cooling fan. Disconnect all speakers and turn it on. if the fans run and it still displays f61 then odds are very good an amp ic is bad.'''Hope it helped.

Have a nice day..

F61 will not come on

Hi,
F61 is an error code that shows amplifier output chip is defective and need to be replaced in Panasonic SC-AK640 unit.
Amplifier output chip replacement requires soldering work and local repair shop will do this job as it is not user level repair.
Hope these info will help you.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

Hello i get the F61 err on my Panasonic SA-DT100. i have cleaned the fan and it works but still i got the error

Maybe the fan doesn't rotate at the proper speed. Try to put some oil on the bearing sleeve or even replace the fan.
If it offers resistance it will show F61 and disconnect.

Error F61 How to reset SC-HT995W system?

I'm sorry to say, but an F61 error can not be cleared by a reset. Please see the link below for an explanation of protect mode (F61 is Panasonic's version of protect). Usually the output amp pac will need to be replaced. This will cost between $75 and $100 for the part. Feel free to post any additional questions here.

SC-BT 100 Error Code f61

Had the same problem. Found that the code refers to the cooling fan. Could be that the fan is dusty or not running when the system starts up. I removed the fan with the two screws and reseated the plug. Make certain that the short, black wire (that seems to go to nothing) is securing the plug to the board.
