It seems like the phone is not reading the sim. It has nothing to do with your sim or battery. But you may try this: 1. After inserting the sim card into the slot, fold a piece of paper (thick enough so that when you close the cover some pressure is applied on the sim) so that its approx the size of the sim (dont make it too thick or the cover won't close). 2. Put the folded paper right on top of the sim and load the battery. 3. This is just a trick which works. 4. If this doesn't work, please get the phone checked from a Nokia service center. Please revert back with the results.

My phone shows "please insert

You could try to remove your sim card.
Install battery and turn on phone without sim card.
Use phone without sim card and do some operations.
This will check if you phone is working correctly.
Turn phone off and install sim card.
Made sure sim card is install correctly.
If this does not work, it could be the sim card is bad.

When I turn on my phone I get message: insert SIM card, but my SIM is already in the phone?!

Try inserting another SIM, your current SIM might have a problem. You can try a friend SIM. Hope this will help you. Thanks for using Fixya.

Insert sim card

Is the sim card new? Sounds like its damaged or non-compatible with your service provider/phone.

My lg phone

There are several reasons for this message. Has your sim been activated by your servide provider? If not, you must call them.

Has your sim expired or been damaged in some way? If so, it must be replaced.

Have you inserted the sim correctly? The gold contacts of the card must be facing down, and the cut corner must be facing out of the card slot, pointing to the right hand side.

Do you have the right sim for your phone's cellular service provider? If your phone is locked to one provider you can't use a sim card from another provider, unless the phone is unlocked.

Hope one of these helps!

Says insert sim card when there is one in it

"Insert SIM" message is normally displayed on phones when a SIM card is not inserted on power-on or it does not detect the SIM card inserted.

Likely Causes:
  1. No SIM card inserted or inserted SIM card is damaged
  2. Inserted SIM card not positioned well in such a way as to make contact with the corresponding contact bridges on phone.
  3. Phone locked to a specific network and can only work on other networks when the firmware version is "flashed", that is completely changed to an unlocked version.
  4. The phone might be faulty (try with another good SIM, if you still get thesame message and its not one of the above reasons... it might be a transciever problem or the phone's SIM card slot's pins might be defective).
cheers.
