Pioneer SD-P 4683-k projection tv

I am picking up this tv from a friend but before I do I wanted to find a fix for it's problem. The red on the screen seems to be almost like a laser show on the. If you adjust the red down it is not as bad but when the red is at normal level it looks like a line graph around the lower part of the screen. It dances around and it makes it very difficult to watch. So I am wondering if there is a quick fix or should I hold up and not get this tv.

do you have full picture and did this set have any faults before this,possible image burn on crts.from previous horizontal fault.

I would suggest replacing the board itself, chances are what caused those fuses to blow is still faulty. did you check those fuses again after you powered it back up?

Th convergance amps have failed you will half to replace them, or have it done parts are around 70 dollars not and easy fix on a pioneer time consuming

THE TV STAYS OFF

If the sound keeps working your probably just need a new lamp, if the sound does not stay on, you probably to get someone to fix the power supply.

Red convergence bowing

Replace both of your STKs if they are STK392-110s upgrade to STK392-180s these are the convergence ic big black ics 2 of them. Electronix Parts 1-800-223-3205

My SD P 50A3-K We unplugged it and now wont come back on to stay...we turn it on then the red lite comes on green flashes on then right back off.....Some times tv will come back on then it shuts it self off....please help thank you

Vertical lines on screen

this is the convergence gone bad. that is what was blowing the fuse. this is the board on the far left. there are two stk`s on this board. stk392-110.

Flashing Green

I would guess that your problem is similiar to mine but mine is with the color red. The CRT went out which is a 400 dollar part and who knows how hard to fix.
