If your TV has a Menu button on its front panel, enter its Menu widow, surf through, come to wards picture control window, and make PIP function OFF. If it has no such button, you must have its remote control to turn it OFF.
Try resoldering the vertica IC. Very common problem. When vertical drops out the CRTs go into blanking ( shutdown no picture) but the menu and on screen displays will still work. Resoldering the IC will usually solve the issue.
sounds like you might have PIP turned one (picture in picture) .. if there is no input hooked up for the PIP . you will just get a black screen ... you should be able to move that PIP around and change its size .. indeed turn it off .. look for a menu item called PIP .. select PIP off ..
This sound like the standard Mitshubisi PIP board problem. There are two ways to adress this one is to repair the board, this involves replacing surface mounted capacitor and is about %80.00 sucsessful. The other is to simply bypass this board. this option is the way to go, it involves installing two capacitor on the main board and fixes the main pix but kills the Picture in Picture (PIP) I will send off both these repairs to your E-mail
The TV is in some kind of protection mode, the blinking LED show you an error code.
Try pressing 062596 and then press menu button (do these in quick
motion, don't let them to time out while keying)...see what happens
I also heard that this problem appeared with some people because the of
the burnt fuse in the TV. To fix that it has to be taken to the tech
shop.
And yes I also heard about this issue many times, seems like this TV set is very popular with this kind of problem.
rule number one about all vs chassis with vertical can pip boards
take them out and throw them away
i could fix one but you couldnt beleive me
and it wouldnt be worth your while
do a search on your modle number until you come up with instructions on how to add two caps to the pip board connector to bypass it
until you do this you are wasting your time
Mitsubishi ... we're still building Zeros
The lighting possibly damage the tuner of the set,for now you can swap the pip with the main picture and change the channels with the vcr,you need the assitance of a service to diagnose how much damage is there but.Let us know what you find or if you nned more information.
