I have documents in the queue. Printing is paused. When I attempt to un-pause it says "access denied." Changed permissions. Still says access denied.

try to run the manual calibratio from the setings.
run "manual calibration"
move the ribbon out from the sensor (with the print head open) and take out 3 or 4 labels from the rollar and put that blank label paper unther the sensors on the left,
say "ok"
wen appear "reload all"
put the ribbon and the normal labels on the correct possition, and say "ok"
try to run sext the sensor profile.
save data (twice on "setup button")
tur off, and on again.

uninstall your printer and then re-install it that should fix your issue,it could be a bad version of an updated driver that is causing the problem

The parallel port cannot be used for printing by default. Heaps of people have made this mistake. You need a N Boot Rom installed and N system software. Almost certainly you don't.
Get a Network Multi PDL Printer Kit C1 for IR3300 (contains N Boot Rom and NIC aka ethernet port). A technician can install this and update system software and you will be able to print. You will be able to print over a network (which is the preffered option) use Remote User Interface and Pull Scan using Canon Network ScanGear (google it).

You need to go ahead and simply refresh a service known as "Print Spooler"
here's how you do it..
for Windows XP:
>> click on start
>> click on run
>> type in " services.msc " and hit enter
You will see a list of service names alphabetically arranged on the right hand side..
From there look for the service name "print spooler"
>> right click on it
>> click on stop
wait for 10 secs
>> right click on it again
>> click on start..
>> restart the computer..
>> you will find your document deleted :)

it seems you might need to rest teh PC..
Once you have done that and assuming you are running windows pls do the following (while the printer is OFF)
1. Go to "Start", "Run"
2. Type: CMD
3. press "Enter"
(now you should be in a DOS terminal window)
4. type: net stop spooler
press "enter"
5. type: net start spooler
press "enter"
6. type: exit
press enter
Turn on the printer...you should be clear now :)

You should see a pop-up menu and the option to "Reset printing system...". Once you select the option, the OS will restore the CUPS printing system back to its original default settings. NOTE: This will, of course, erase all of your print queues.
