HP f1903 LCD Monitor mild flickering & color variance

I have a HP f1903 LCD monitor (about 2.5 years old) which has mild flickering and color variances. For example, when viewing images, the background appears normal, but the image has mild flickering. Blue appears more purple or lavender. Greens appear teal in color. The PC is a HP M1080n Media Center (2 years old), 1.5GB Ram, 3.2Ghz, 240GB Hard Drive, Windows XP Media Center Edition. Is this the monitor or video card going bad? Help is appreciated.

I would bet it is the cable or connection. Have you tried connecting the monitor to a different PC?

When i turn on the monitor it flashes on once for a few seconds t

faith1114, Try this first! See if any thing seems a little similar to your f1903 type of complaint. Problem been around a long time!!! Go do some reading here: http://www.lesliewong.us/blog/2005/05/02/hp-pavilion-f1703-flat-panel-display-blackout-solution. After doing some reading there, you will be in a better position to make decision to DIY repair, contract out the repair work, trade in for new , DIY repair + buy a new monitor keeping refurbished f1903 as emergency spare. Here is a little clue. If unit can display Win-desktop for 2 seconds and then the "black screen of death happens" you certainly need to do some reading and viewing of DIY videos at YOUTUBE so you can understand the big problem all major CCFL back-lit lcd monitor manufacturers are facing. do some additional reading here at fixya in the profiles of ccfl backlit lcd monitor technicians "budmrtn" "buddymc" , "12fixlouie" (late) "louie12fix" (old) Follow links you find there. Once you understand basic problem you will never walk past the new curlie-Q, screw-in energy-efficient CFL light bulbs at the local hardware or big box homecenter ever again with out having a slight grin on your face!! Bye for now. 12fixlouie

Monitor flickers about 2 minutes after turn on. the flickering starts from the left and it eventually becomes a black screen. the monitor is 8 months new.

Unless I have the model number wrong (F1903), this monitor was relased in 2004. If it is 8 months old then it should be fixed under warranty. This can be bad problem in the bcaklight inverter circuits or bad lamps due to bad soldering works, bad power supply, please look here to see hwat is involved in repairing the monitors: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Speakers don't Work on HP Pavilion f1903 desktop

Just match the color of the male and female on each end. Plug the audio cable (mini stereo phone plugs) to the PC audio line out (green miniphone jack) to the Powered speaker mini stereo phone audio line input jack (green color jack). You will have to set the volume controls of the speaker control knob and at the PC on screen volume control panel.

Screen always flicering

If the screen is flickering then I would assume its a dry solder on the inverter board or the LCD panel is about to die. Are you skilled in electronics?

HP F1903 monitor

sure the F1903
is a LCD monitor but is old , it has
and CCFL black lamp.
it has board inside that is the power supply /inverter
this board runs the lamps.
the lamps love to fail after 10 long year of service
so when monitor fails, push the menu botton on the front
is the OSD menu dead (monitor brains inside)???

see bottom of this page , see CCFL and PCB there?
if lamps bad replace them
if PCB bad replace it, seen sold on Ebay , vastly, there.

some of these old monitors.
have silly internal sleep mode,
turn that off. (push menu button on front)
see OSD (on screen,display menus)
see settings
see power saver mode, turn it OFF,

Can not load f1903 software on microsoft xp system

This has nothing to do with your monitor. Windows has default drivers that will be installed for that.
The problem will be your video card drivers are not installed.
Get the right drivers for your card, install them and you should be away.
