Hi all! i m having a motorola A1000.the problem is that it was ok.i placed it for more then 3 months in my bag,as it was not in use.One day i took it out placed my sim card inside and it worked for a single day.I dont know what happend to it,but when i checked,it was off then.I thought that i might be because of low charged battrey,so i recharged the battrey. But even then it remained off.Now when i switch it on,only "MOTOROLA 3G" appears on the display screen, and then it gets off it self after few seconds.I have been told by few technisions that it is because of its software problem, and i have to do its soft ware once again.I even tried that,to flash and get a software installed once again, but still its not working. My cell has not fallen or mishandeld, i dont know how it happened?and what are the exact reasons for this problem. No one understand that what is the problem with it.I like my motorola A1000 very much.please help me if u can.On the main bord of the cell, there are two check points. To test the check points during software instalation,u ave to connect point A with point B,and then push the two silver buttons to get the soft ware intalled simultanously, inorder to make the cell ready for flashing and installation of the soft ware from the net.It has been done but the Cell is not responding and time and again it appears that,,,no phone is found,,,,,,i dont know what is the proper solution to it.please i will be wating for a responce,as soon as possible.Thank u,,Regards. BYEEEE

Re: please help me out!!
Those check points are provided to bring the a1000 to bootloader - flash mode. If they fail to do so, and you are shure that you've connected them properly, then the bootloader is damaged. If the bootloader can't be brought online properlly, then a reflash woun't work. There is no user fix to apply to a broken or corrupted bootloader, because you simply need it to have the phone recognised by the computer. Therefore only a phone service can handle that, and most of them woun't from what I know. I had an a1000 for 1 year, did all sort of flashing, SEEM editing and such stuff on it, but then, as it is now, the problem wasn't "fixable". I am sorry for I can't provide a real help.

The motorola A1000 does have a signal problem, however a signal booster has been released and can be purchased by following this link: http://www.mobilephonecrazy.com/modeldetail/a1000,Signal_booster.htm

did you use of 3g, or just you frequency is changed. with motorola you can select regime manualy and frequency too. try in phone settings to set frequency to auto and 3g too.
ok, well as far as i remember gps doesnt come standard with the a1000, it has an agps socket which means gps capabilities for programs like tom tom. But the only thing i can tell u is to turn on ur agps socket before using the program, otherwise your gps program may have been deleted, thats all i can say as if u do(or did) have a gps program on there it should show up in applications icon.
The screen of the a1000 model is composed of 2 parts, the lcd display and the touchscreen pannel wich are both secured in the same housing, protected by a metal frame. Even if you only broke the lcd screen (and the touchscreen is still ok) in most cases, a service center will replace the entire screen assembly. It will cost somewhere around $100-200 depending on wich service center you choose. If you try this operation in a service center, the costs will be greater because you will buy a new screen and pay the labour part. It would be greater if you can buy a second hand broken a1000 with a good display and change it yourself. A1000 and the P9xx series are very easy to dissasemble and work with. You may receive further informations and pictures if you reply with this request.
The short answer would be to try to avoid a service intervention to the phone. It will be very expensive. the a1000 model was made in 2003 so the spare parts that can be found today are expensive and hard to find. Try finding a second hand unit, you may strike a good deal with it.
