Question about Fujitsu Siemens AMILO D-7830 Notebook
I have to change the video-card in my Amilo D-7830 so I've tried to open the chassis, but I can't reach all parts! I've detached the LCD, the keyboard, battery, HDD, dozens of screws.. and then? Under the keyboard there's nothing! And the underside is covered by a metallic plate that seems not to be removable. I've tried to remove all the plastic chassis around the laptop, but I think there are some screws I cannot reach. Please help me! Thank you. Roberto
There is indeed a "loose" graphics board in the Amilo D7830 as well as a "loose" modem. pull out the CD-Rom drive and there is another little screw on the edge (underneath the drive)from there it is smooth sailing! Good Luck

Not all norebooks have on-board graphics, mine (Amilo D 5xxx, not sure about the model) has ATI graphics so it must be a separate card. My problem though is that the laptop has a highly complex chassis, so there is as good as impossible opening it without breaking something.

If i'm not mistaken, as in most notebooks, your's does not have a 'Video card', as they have on board graphics, which is built into the motherboard.
