I have had my sansa e260 for about two months and now all of the sudden my computer doesn't recognize it. My friend that has the same player says that the exact same thing is happening to him. how do i fix it???
I finally got it to work!!! but i had tried changing the USB mode before and then plugging it back in to my computer, with no change. later i left the USB to where i had switched it and plugged it in to a friend's computer and it worked there?!?!? afterwards i took it home and plugged it in to my comp. and everything was back to normal!!!
Turn on your mp3 player, under settings find an option that says 'usb mode' or something similar. Under usb mode switch the value (switch the picked choice to the other option). Turn off the player and plug it into your computer. It now will work.
I don't know how to fix it, but it sounds as though we are having the same problem. I think it is caused by the e260 being in the wrong file format. Alas, i do not know how to change the format without the computer recognizing it.
